I'm thinking about going from Iasi to Chisinau which i believe is about 3 hours by bus, but am also thinking about going on to Tiraspol while i am in this part of the world. Seems like a one off opportunity really. How much time would i need in both cities? Something tells me that 2 nights in each city might be a bit much. I will have to doubleback on my route too so i'm thinking about 1 night in Chisinau, then onto Tiraspol for 1 or 2 nights, then back to Chisinau, or keep going straight back to Iasi before pressing on.
Any thoughts on this?
Since i'm into old architecture, castles, military history and old communist type stuff then i assume i'll find plenty of what i'm looking for in the above cities...
Those links are great!
Would be nice to spend one night though in a country that doesn't really 'exist' in a recognised sense :) Would probably be enough. Hope they wouldn't come down hard on me for taking a few pics here and there. The wikitravel and wikipedia links about the city were quite good
The plan is certainly taking more shape now :)
Chisinau will easily keep you busy for 2 days. Central park is good, use the local buses to get around. If you want a guide let me know, I can find someone to meet you and show you around, I have many friends in the city and my Gf lives there too. Look at my travel pages if you wanna see if I am genuine.
Thanks Kevin! I'll certainly look into it. Appreciate your message! :)
