Hi, I am planning a trip to Romania for 2 weeks in June and wish to spend 3-4 days in Moldova.
Can anyone provide me with more information on travel options from Bucharest to Chisinau and reasonably priced hotels in Chisinau? Any information on this little known - in Western Europe - country appreciated.
Click on the link below for hotels, amenities, maps, prices, ratings and reviews of past guests, many VT'rs use this web site for the booking of hotels, it is an excellent resource, it may be of help to you. The second link will give you some travel options to get there.
There is also a overnight train, leaving Bucharest 7.05 pm arriving 9 am.
Hi, i was in Romania and Moldova last summer. The transportation options from Romania to Chisinau will depend on your intitairy. For instance, if you are travelling around in Romania, you do not necessarily have to go back to the capital in order to get to Moldova. F.e, from Brasov there are long-distance busses leaving for Moldova, as wel as in Iasi you can enter Moldova. In Chisinau, I stayed at Hotel Turist, in the centre. 700 lei single. It’s a budget hotel with a communist-time interior and exterior. I stayed there for the experience. At [original link] you find more luxuary. 4 days Moldova will be sufficient. If you can, you really should visit Cricova wine cellars and Tiraspol. In order to plan your trip in advance, you can use the websites of railways ([original link]) and bus ([original link])
Thanks for the information, much appreciated!
You can book an apartment in Chisinau on the site [original link]
