Hi, im in my late 30s and il be all by myself in south beach on thru the week in the first week of december. can someone guide or suggest me some nice place to go for few drinks and people watching. i love off beat places too. im not interested to go to a place to get hooked up, so please dont suggest that please.
Hi! We live here and I'll give you following suggestions.
People watching on SoBe (South Beach) is fun and always available.
You have two choices, I would do one one night and the other the 2nd night.
Lincoln Road lincolnroadmall.com/about-li... good for any time of the day is one of my favorite spots on the beach. There are tons of restaurants, people - both tourists and locals - shops, lights, color and flair! You can even walk to the sandy shore from here and enjoy the moonlight.
Be careful and don't wander off into the darker unlit areas as a tourist you could be robbed. The mall itself is just fine and perfectly safe.
Second place is Ocean Drive. southbeachmagazine.com/ocean...
I like this for casual strolling and it's more about the beach itself here and the gorgeous architecture.
This is the area of SoBe made famous by classics such as Miami Vice, the movie "The Birdcage" and many others.
There are great dining options here as well as seeing the locals drive up and down the blvd showing off their 'wheels'.
This is also a place full of bars, high end venues and where many a celebrity hangs out.
I really love this place for breakfast on a Sunday! It is quiet because of all the partying the night before and you can get a great breakfast from many a hotel veranda overlooking the ocean for around USD $3.99 which includes Eggs, potatoes, toast and coffee.
You didn't say where you are staying but you can easily walk (about 20 minutes) between the 2 places or take a quick cab ride between one and the other place.
Cabs are expensive on the beach!
