Getting to Megiddo

Can you get there by public transport and walking - it looks quite far out??

It's not that bad. It's located not that far from a central junction, so there are a lot of buses going there. Assuming you go from Tel-Aviv, you need to go to the Arlozorov bus terminal (right next to the Tel-Aviv Central train station). From there you can take buses: 830 (an hour), 835 (1:20 hours), 843 (1:30 hours). They all leave from platform 41. Ask the driver to get of at Meggido Junction (Zomet Megiddo, in Hebrew). From there you can see the site, you need to walk about 1 km to the north, on road 66.

If you don't want to walk that distance. You can continue on the bus and get off at Affula central bus station. From there you can take bus number 56 (of Kavim bus lines). This will take you to Kibbuz Megiddo which is right next to the site.
