Looking for a dependable Guide. 6 adults arriving Fort-De-France 1/7/16.
I am very curious about Martinique and hope to travel there this Summer. I am concerned because I am a vegan and I do not speak French, (.well "un peu" and with a guidebook). I do not want to cause a problem wherever I might go or frustrate people with my ineptitude. This is my problem, not theirs. That said, should I continue to plan or would another island be smarter for me?
Which type of car do I need to drive on and off-road in Martinique? Thanks.
Where can I go parasailing in Martinique?
How much is a day pass to club med? Also, what is the best way to get from airport to Le Diamont? Instead of renting a car are there other methods of transportation
We are planning a week or so in Martinique. We like to snorkel, walk around, hike, take photos. We can drive and my husband speaks french. We don't like fancy resorts. We don't need a pool, TV, or casinos. We like to walk on the beach, but not sit out to sun tan.
What area should we make as our home base? Do we need to move to the north, lush area to experience the area or can we make day trips?
thanks for your replies.
Trying to find any cheap flights from NYC or Philadelphia area to Martinique - seems quite expensive - wondering if any of the Caribbean regional airlines might be less expensive than American.....?
We are flying in from Paris at 6:40pm and our connection leaves at 9:20am the next morning. Any advice what to do during that time is welcome. How is the airport to hang around? Any not-too-expensive accommodation near the airport?
Hello, I need information on costs on Martinique, Dominica and Goudaloupe.
Things like accommodation (mid-range) or Budget. A meal in a restaurant, a drink in a bar, a dive.

First trip to Martinique, we do not need a car but need to get to the Marina in Marin to meet up with sailing friends. Is a taxi the best option and approx how many euros?
Are there any ethnic cities? Is there a "chinatown" area in Martinique? What's the ethnicity distribution around the island? (like are there more native Martinitians in one city? or more Asian people in another?)

hi there everyon/anyone
my husband and i will be staying in virgin gorda (near tortola) in november for a week or so and we were thinking of going to martinique for 2 to 3 weeks afterwards. we are wondering if anyone of you folks have been there in november, what the weather is like and VERY IMPORTANT if you have ideas on where to stay. at the risk of sounding "fussy" we do NOT like all inclusives. we would like an effidiency unit on or very near the beach. our main reason for this holiday is to snorkel, scuba dive and relax/read on the beach.
can ANYONE out there give us some info??? should we think of another island instead. language is NOT a problem. we would like to bood something SOON.
HELP IS NEEDED HERE. thanks
I read contradictory information regarding the weather in Martinique.
What kind of weather will I find if I travel there in October or November?
Our idea of holiday is a lot cultural, food, but also we want to enjoy the beach and the water sports (wind surfing, ...).
Is it a good period ?
Thanks for your answers.

Hello, and thanking anyone in advance for some help to a question I have.
I will be traveling by cruiseship next month, and was wondering about a nice beach about 1/2 hour from the pier. I have heard about Point du Bout, but it looks rather crowded. I was hoping for something less crowded, yet close to someplace where we could get eats and drinks. Thank you.
Hi. We are looking for a very special place to stay in Martinique (and willing to pay the price for it). Any tips about somewhere really special, perhaps also at the water's edge. Thanks

Could anybody reccomend me a place to stay in Martinique, near the beach and not expensive? It can be a hotel or apartment. Thank you, Sabina
Hey VT! I'm planning on taking a cruise through the S. Caribbean in early June ('04) and will be stopping by Martinique for a day. We arrive at Fort-de-France around 11am and leave around 6pm, which is unfortunate for such a neat island that I actually studied in French class. What would you suggest I do to see the island in 7 hours or less? I know St. Pierre is interesting (or is it?) and seeing the fishing villages in the north is neat. But is it also possible to get to the south (i.e. Les Salines and Diamond Beaches?) in a day? If not, what spots would be the best to see! Would renting a car be worth-while, or is there another easy way to get around? Help is greatly appreciated as always! Thanks, Nathan.
