Hi! We are going to Civitanova Marche next week and wonder if there is anything special that we "must taste" in that region? Maybe even you didn't think it was worth it:-)
Is there anything else we should do there, visit there - something very unique or rather special (maybe even some shopping center)?
Thanks for your advices!
Sadly our own travel guides are very much beach oriented when it comes to Marche.
I am looking for some accommodation and charming towns in southern Marche, provinces of Macerata, Fermo and Ascoli to be precise. I want to combine this with Abruzzo early July, approx. 1 week alltogether. With car.
I have stayed briefly in the region and found a charming agriturismo, but this was too far in the north for what I am planning now. I want to do some hiking and visit some hermitages/eremi. Precisely one near San Severiono Marche (Sant'Eutizio) and the other near Sarano (and Amandola and San Ginesio). So I am looking for your suggestions of charming towns and charming accommodation. I don't like the luxury ones, which is not a question of money but a lack in "rural charm", as I would say :-)
Thanks in advance :-)
I would like to go from San Benedetto to Venice. Does any one know if its easier to travel by Train or is there a coach service that operates from san Benedetto. There is also 5 in my party going so if any one knows the prices of tickets, that would be useful.
Is it difficult to drive a rental car out of Rome? (I've always avoided driving in Italy's major cities.)
Would it not be more convenient to get to Le Marche by flying into Bologna, instead of Rome?
How many hours was the drive from Rome to your destination in Le Marche (which was...?)
Three of us will be visiting Italy soon. My friend really wants to have a bit of time at the beach. She loves to swim and lay on the beach. We are looking for a clean, beautiful place that isn't too crowded. My husband and I aren't as into the beach thing as she is. If there were some interesting places around if we get board that would be great too. We will start in Venice and then visit San Marino. Then we will be spending 3 nights on the coast before turning inland to go to Rome. Where to go? Any ideas? OH! We are also looking for SUPER, UBER CHEAP! Anyone have a back yard where we could set up our tent??? :-)
Thanks for the help.
I am thinking about going to Marche this year, probably in September and October, travelling by car.
What is the wheather like in that time of the year ? According to different sites the temps are between 13 and 20 C with some small chance for rain.
Is that true ? If I want a bit more sunshine it is probably better to travel more south of going to Sardegna or Sicilia ?
Thanx in advance,
Hi we are thinking of taking cheap flight to Ancona next year.Firstly would it be best to go in Whitsun school hols end of May beg of June or Summer. With a child we dont want it too hot just enough to make it warm enough for swimming but I do remember going to Tuscany in June and it was rainy and cold most of the time.
Secondly where to go as we would not have a car but have always managed with trains and buses(part of the experience ha ha.)
We like architecture town life wine, eating markets and festivals and we try to go to go to places that will suit our son ie swimming pool, sand, parks boats rivers ice cream. We would consider staying in 2 or 3 places at most possibly dividing between coast(but not packed like sardines beaches) and interior. How easy is this on trains/buses.Is this asking too much we have usually done the south of france quite easily as transport was good.Or would we best staying in one central area and doing day trips?thanks for any advice
Sorry, it's OT, but since I have serious problems with the email programme, I'd like to tell Dan (whom I should meet in the weekend in Ancona) to email me at [email] (leave LEAVETHIS_ and you get the address).
Thanks and sorry again.
I am having tourble finding ex pat B&B's in Marche in the sea of junk that is much of google results.
Can anyone point me in a direction or give me some suggestions?
Thanks a lot
Hi! I am leaving this Wednesday, so hopefully someone can help me before. I called Hotel San Paolo, but the receptionist didn't speak English. I would like to know how much I should expect/not expect to pay for a taxi ride from the train stop at Porto San Giorgo to Hotel San Paolo in Montegiorgio. On the map, it looks like its about 15 KM away, but I can't guess where this is a 10 Euro ride or something over 30. please help!!!!! thank you!!!
I will be spending 4 nights in Le Marche during August with my wife and would like some advice on a good place to stay near a beach(we have a car).
We would like a reasonable hotel in a resort that is not too lively but with plenty of Restaurants in the evening.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Would it be better to stay in Ancona or Porto S Giorgio to use as a base for visiting say, Fermo and Loreto? Any other suggestions of places to visit in that area?
Hi - My cousins and I are flying into Ancona and renting a car to visit Castel di Lama where our grandfather was born. We will very little time there. Does anyone know if we could hire a guide who speaks English? Also what are the "must see" items. Thanks, Dawn Marie
Hi all! We are spending a month in Castleraimondo (August) and perfecting our italian language skills at Scuola Dante Alighieri. There is precious little information on the interenet, including italian sites, about Castelraimondo. Has anyone been - or can anyone give me an idea of how large a town it is, or if there is a map/town plan anywhere I can access? I have Triple A's Italy Road Atlas, but would love to hear from anyone who might have visited there, or anyone who actually attending the language school. I appreciate your input! Stacy Seattle
