Hi all, In June 2011 I have booked, through a travel agent, a 2 wk holiday at the Relax Inn (Bugibba). I would like to contact the hotel via Email, Web site or telephone, but have had no success tracing any direct contact details. Can anyone help? We have been to Malta before, hope the "Euro" has not spoilt the country?
In december I visit Malta for THE fitst time. I'll arive on THE airport and I'm like to know whats THE best posibility to Travel from THE airport to St. Paul's Bay?
Thanks in Advanced for answering my question.
What is THE best transportation from THE airport to St. Paul's Bay on THE 23th of december 2010?
We're thinking of going for a week in January, and would be most grateful for guidance on the best area(s) in which to stay. Beaches are obviously irrelevant at that time of year, but we're interested in history, archeology, churches, architecture, museums, culture ... Hotel and restaurant recommendations would also be most welcome.
Tnanks in advance for your help, Robin E.
I would like to ask you whether most of the suburbs around valleta make it easy to cycle that walk while searching for accomodation. im interested to cycle in msida, mriehel, birkirkara and valletta.
I will work in the mriehel area and would like your opinion which is the best safe area around to start looking for a flat.
thank you :)
What is the best way to go to Egypt from Malta. Also what's the best way to fly from Boston to Malta? Where would you recomend I stay in Malta? thanks John
What's the weather like in jan and feb and where's a good place to rent an apartment on the the island of Malta?
People have been telling me to book a hotel/rent a flat in Sliema (because there are not so many cheap and with good ratings in Valletta). Now I keep finding good ratings at hotels in St Julians. What´s the difference between these two areas? Both seem to have lots of restaurants around. Or are the restaurants at St Julians more like nightclubs and discos than places to eat and pubs? Or are the connections to Valletta better from Sliema?
I am coming to Malta on a cruise. We are wondering if anyone knows the current rate for a 3-4 hour taxi hire (for 2) for a trip around the island. All info I can find is a few years old. Thanks in advance for any info.
Is the road well signposted from the airport in Malta to the ferry terminal to Gozo ?
Thanks in advance
How far is that airport in Malta, witch Easyjet is using (or maybe there is only one airport..) What is the name of the airport ( I didn´t book yet, so I didn´t get the name), so I could see the airport page, and how it is connected to Valletta or Sliema.
Hi, just wanted to let you know about a VT meeting being held next Sunday, 19th September, so if you happen to be in Malta and want to meet up with some locals, do join us there.
Here is the link from the VT Meetings section, please sign up, or if there isn't time, just turn up, we'll find room for you! Thanks, Anne.
I'm going to be going to Malta from the US for a few months the beginning of October 2010 and staying at a friends house for a couple of months. I am in graphic and web design so I plan on continuing to do work for my US clients (and maybe get some new Malta clients) while I am there.
My friends keep warning me about bringing and shipping equipment and that there will be a tax charged. Because of my work I really want to bring my desktop computer and 23" hdtv monitor and I think I have figured out that the best way is to purchase a Pelican padded case or something like that and take the equipment as checked luggage on the plane. I'll remove the harddrives and carry those on with me (if anyone has a better suggestion please let me know).
My question is:
1) will I have a hard time in customs? Should I bring the receipts? I have the box for my hdtv but my friends say that that is a red flag? Does it really matter if I pack things back in their original retail packaging (like for my harddrive, etc.).
Also on another note. I use skype and have a US skype in number and just purchased a Malta number for local calls. I also use Google Voice. Has anyone had any experience with google voice and/or skype calls in Malta?
Thanks and wish me luck.
Let's meet: Maltesers and VT members welcome
It's been quite a while since our last VT meeting. Mary and Al from Massachusetts, US will be visiting Malta and they would like to meet some of us local VTers.
A VT meeting will be taking place on Friday, 10th September, 8:00pm onwards at 'The United Bar & Restaurant' in Mgarr, just behind the Mgarr Church.
This bar and restaurant is a casual place and offers local Maltese dishes such as rabbit, horse meat , cheeslets and snails and for those who wish to taste other typical dishes such as pasta, other meats, chicken etc they are also available on the menu which you can see on their website:
Whilst wishing to see a good number of us for this meeting kindly advise if you are attending and the number of people attending with you (if any) since booking is highly reccommended.
Looking forward to see you there.. and hear about your travels ;)

I was just checking whats the prices of accomodation in Valletta, and when I type Valletta, some places are told to be for exampl x km from Sliema and x km from Valletta. I searched Sliema with googlemaps, and it looks like they are side by side with Valletta. Is Slieta a popular spot, or why it is often mentioned at details?
Hi there VT guys and girls,
We would like to visit the Hypogeum in Paola during our stay in Malta in October. In order to reserve a timeslot via internet at the Hypogeum; I'd like to know how long the drive is by bus. Our hotel is in Valetta ; hotel Phoenicia.
What are interesting sites nearby to combine our visit with?
Our flight arrives at Luqa airport at 1.20am. Is it possible to get to Sliema at this time of the morning? If not, can you recommend a hotel in Valletta where a taxi can travel to?
We'd like to visit Malta this year in October during one week. Where should we book a hotel? Our plan is to see as much of the sites as possible (so we're not really there to relax by the pool).
Should we book only one hotel or 2 to allow for better sight seeing?
Is it easy to use public transport to move from one central point to another site?
Or is it only doable if you hire a car?
All practical tips to see and do as much as possible during a one week stay are highly appreciated!
I will stay in Malta(Paradise Bay) from 26th of June with my family. (My son is 2)
-Do you recommend walking from Paradise Bay to Melieha? How far is it?
-What is the latest bus going to/from Melieha?
-Do you recommend to take a bus to Valetta with children from Paradise bay?
-If I go to Valetta by car is it easy to park?
Thx a lot!
We will be on a cruise in August that stops in Valetta. We have two children, 5 and 7. We are trying to plan our day there. Any advice? As much as we may love to walk around and look at all of the buildings, it might be hot and boring for them. So we thought the first thing we would do it catch the #138 bus to the area where you board the boat to the Blue Grotto. I think the boys would enjoy the boat ride. Are we guaranteed to find a boat to see the Blue Grotto, or should we book an excrusion through our cruise ship? We would like to avoid that for cost reasons, if possible. Can you also see the Blue Lagoon, Azzure Windo by this same boat??? This is all confusing. And of those three, what would be the most exciting to see, or nicest? And then after that, walk around a little in Valetta and see St. John's Cathedral and the Upper Barrakka Garden and maybe Mdina, if there's time. What do you think would be the best things to do/see with the children? Any help is appreciated!!! We will be there from 8:30-6 PM.
My wife and I will be visiting Malta in August but we are not sure where to stay. Somewhere for a middle aged couple who like fun, nice wine and food and decent accomodation preferably with a pool is required. Our motto is: Life is not a rehersal so live it to the full.
I will be coming to Malta in August and will probably be driving to Cirkewwa to get the ferry to Goza can I get a route map to show me the way to get to the ferry from the airport
I´m going to spend a long weekend in Malta and I would like to know which are the top nightlife spots. Any suggestions are welcome!

Does anyone has ever stayed there? Do you recommend it. I'm looking for something simple and not expensive
Hi, can anyone give me any advice on boat hiring to travel around Malta?
Thanks a lot in advance,
I shall be holidaying in Malta towards the end of April, and I was wondering if it is a do-able do to take a day trip to Sicily to visit the war graves at Syracuse. Getting from Pozzallo to the graves and back may be too much fo a day trip. Any advice please
Hi All, I'm helping my sister and her family plan a holiday. She has 3 young children (age 1, 4 and 6 years). They like to stay in small, friendly, family run hotels/apartments. They don't mind if it's basic but they would like a swimming pool need a good location; close to town and the beach. Can anyone recommend somewhere?
Does any one have any information on the torture dungen in Rabat, Malta. Thanks.
does anyone know the price of a 1 day return ferry trip from malta to sicilly?
I'm going to Malta to meet up with an old friend who is working in Tripoli. He finds the dryness of the atmosphere a bit tedious at the weekends.
I want to travel out Edinburgh to Malta on a Wednesday, returning on the Sunday, to tie in with his weekend off (he wants to keep his annual leave days for trips home to see the family).
Ryanair files Tuesday & Saturday, so that's not right. Air Malta has plenty flights, but all via Heathrow or Manchester and 3 times the price of Ryanair.
Any other suggestions anyone?
I'm still looking for myself, but a cry for help can't go wrong.
