There is a shuttle bus from Hamburg to the airport:

vhhpvg.de/kundeninformation/...

or you can take the train from Hamburg to the airport terminal. Times, details and fares in English here:

bahn.com/i/view/overseas/en/...

Search for 'Hamburg Hbf' and 'Lubeck flughafen'.

Info on both bus and train in English here:

flughafen-luebeck.de/en/gett...

I also took a shuttle buss, it takes one hour. By the way, check from which buss terminal the buss goes, there are two buss stations in Hamburg.

There is a shuttle bus direct from Hamburg Airport to Lübeck.

You can also go by train (with a change at Hamburg Central Station (Hbf).

From: Hamburg Airport
To: Lübeck Hbf

BTW there are no flights between Hamburg and Lübeck - distance is too short.

If you want to see fares for the trains use the nah.sh timetable not the DB timetable. Technically identical, but on this relation the SH and not the DB tariff applies.

From: Hamburg Airport
To: Lübeck Hbf

SH tariff tickets are zone-to-zone (city-to-city) local public transport tickets. They cover all means for local public transport: regional trains, S-Bahn, U-Bahn, city buses, regional buses and a number of ferries in these 2 cities.
Not covered are long distance trains like IC/EC or ICE and shuttle buses like the Traveliner Hamburg Airport to Lübeck.

There is a bus or train that goes out there. great town and one of my favorite places with all the churches. When I went there I rented a car, but really no need for one as everything was pretty coinvenant there that the car parked itself.

I drove from Hamburg to Lübeck (short and easy) and quickly headed to Travemünde, didn't have time to truly visit Lübeck...
One place worth mentioning : Das Buddenbrookhaus. I learned about Lübeck when I read Buddenbrooks by Thomas Mann.
Then Tonio Krüger and The Magic Mountain, etc. (I think I became addicted to Mann with Buddenbrooks.)

Love marzipan too! good reason to return to Lübeck.
