I have been wondering what public transport is like in Edinburgh!? Are there busses and/or trains running from the city centre to Ikea frequently? If so, how long does the ride take?
Also, can anyone recommend real estate agencies for short-term rental?
Many thanks in advance!
My husband and I are planning two nights in Edinburgh at the end this month. We have a rental car and would like to stay in a town outside of Edinburgh that has a train that will take us into the city center for sightseeing, we don't want to drive into the city, we understand how difficult it could be. We will be arriving from Manchester so anything on the south, west or east sides of Edinburgh would be perfect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
We will be in the Haddington/Dunbar area and would like to visit a castle (we will be in Edinburgh later on in our trip and will see Edinburgh castle then). I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on which of the area's castle would make for the most interesting visit. Thank you
Im gonna be staying south of Edinburgh this weekend and on Sunday I need to get to Glasgow. I've found bus schedules to get me into Edinburgh on Sunday, but the buses im lookin at all go to Haymarket. I know I could get a train(or bus I assume) from Waverly to Glasgow but I cant even find Haymarket on the map.... Could someone enlighten me ? thanks, dave
Is there someone who could find some free time to meet me and my sister in Edinburgh to tell us something about a town?we are comming on 1 st of July and we would really appreciate a conversation with someone experienced in this city..thanks
Hi everyone. I'm 18 and a freshman in at a university in the United States. I've never been to Scotland but it's always been my dream to live there. I'll be there for a while this summer on a mission trip and if I like it (which I'm certain I will), I'll start looking into colleges and universities there to transfer to. So I was wondering if I could get some advice and info as to where I could look into. I don't really care about location..if near Edinburgh , that would be great but anywhere in Scotland is okay. Not being from around there, I don't know anything about which colleges are best or anything about tuition or housing. So any information would help. Thanks!
Hello all~ In the Edinburgh area, does anyone know of educational, interactive visitor attractions for teenagers ages 13-18? We'll be bringing a passel of them in the spring. We're thinking of trying the SECRET BUNKER just a little north of Edinburgh on one day, but are hesitant because the website is snazzy, but is it something that teens would enjoy? They mention that there are two cinemas in the SECRET BUNKER, but we haven't been able to find out yet if they show things about Scottish history, etc. We also thought of trying the "Shaping A Nation" and "TurboVenture" in Edinburgh. The kids want to see castles and Loch Ness for sure. Scenery is nice, but can only go so far with the young people - they like tech and action, and we'd like for them to have some of that spice, too, (in an educational way) while we're in Scotland. Thanks a bunch.
