We are planning some hiking in Lofoten in the middle of the June (backpacks, tents, etc). Now I got a question: is there a possible pass from Bunes beach to Kjerkfjorden village by mountains? Of course without a technical climbing skills and without climbing equipment. I know that the boat can take us there, but I'd prefer to pass it on my feet...
Will be grateful for any help!
I cannot help you.If you contact the local branch of the Norwegian Treking Association, I'm sure you'll get all the help you need.
Have a nice time!
I realize this is too late, but in case someone else searches for the answer here goes:
Me and a couple of friends went hiking with tents in Lofoten during the summer. We wanted to pass from Bunes to Kjerkfjorden too, to see Horseid. We walked without backpacks to check the route and quickly found that it is not advisable to walk from Bunes to Kjerkfjorden WITH backpacks. Even without backpacks, the trip down to Kjerkfjorden from Helvetestind (not the peak) seems pretty rough. We cancelled our trip because it would be too slippery in the rain. A local guy claimed it was possible to walk there, but we did not feel comfortable.
