south of the tagus

We are hoping to do a day trip to Freeport outlet centre, taking the ferry across from terreiro do paco and coming back by bus over the vasco de gama bridge. However i am having a lot of difficulty working out the TST schedule. Can anyone help. Which bus will take us from the ferry at Montijo to the beach at Samouco to see the flamingos. Which stop would it be best to get out. Then we want to get a bus on to Freeport outlet shopping and finally take a bus over the bridge to Gare Oriente. My plan is to take the 412 from the ferry to Samouco and then the 431 from Samouco to Freeport and on to Gare Oriente. Has anyone a better or simpler plan.

I think OP that you have almost answered your own question.

The 412 runs from Montijo to Samouco as do the 431 and 435. I am not sure of the beach and flamingo location but when I zoom in on the map it shows only one stop in Samouco, the Samouco Centro, which doesn't seem to be very close to the water.

You will need to check all the times. 412 and 435 are basically weekday rush hour only routes. 431 has a 3 hour gap on weekdays 1700 - 2000.

I'd suggest taking a look at the 410 bus, which runs from the Barreiro ferry via Montijo and Samouco to Freeport, however it is one of those timetables with loads of footnotes to take into consideration.

There aren't any places in Samouco to see Flamingos. And anyway, at this time of the year there aren't any. Most of them come to spend the winter.

I reccomend you take the Bus from Oriente Bus station (431 (the only one that runs on weekends),432 or 435) to Alcochete. It stops right at Freeport, and you can also go to downtown Alcochete, a very mall place, but with great river views and great restaurants.
