Is it safe to travel to Lebanon in 2017 for a holiday please?
Hi there! My boyfriend is currently in Lebanon for work and is trying to convince met to visit him in January 2017 but I am extremely worried about safety. I know the media blows everything out of proportion but I can't help to be concerned, I'll be flying there and back by myself. Can anyone provide any insight into the safeness of Lebanon and safety tips? Thank you :)
I will be working in Lebanon in the near future so I would like to get some basics of Lebanese Arabic. I am bit worried about cost of life in Beirut, does anyone know about Lebanese courses out of Beirut?

Going to spend the coming week in Beirut, but want to get out of the city for some nights.
Wondering if you have some good ideas for affordable accommodation for 2 (possible 3) adults + 1 child (10y)
"Bed and breakfast" preferable. As long as it is clean, we will not be demanding.
I would be happy if you could message me contact info to the owner, if it isn't suitable to post it on the forum.
Ehden/Bscharre has been on the list, but I am not sure if I am ready to go "that far".

My dads family live there and they like to party and drink but it will be winter there so I don't know how much. This will be my first time going. And i do like to shop haha

We are a british living in Oman and would like to bring the children to Mzaar for skiing. I cant find any updated info on travel to Lebanon. Any advice? Also, transport from airport, do you suggest booking a driver z( through hotel) taxi or hire car. Thanks in advance
I am British living in Dubai and have heard skiing in Lebanon is great. I'd also like to visit Beirut as it seems such a beautiful city. Government websites say it's dangerous to travel to Lebanon right now, given the terrorist activity and bordering with Syria and Israel, but people have personally told me that they travelled there with no problems.
How dangerous would it be for me to travel there right now? Many thanks
I'm from the Philippines and I'm planning to travel to Lebanon on Jan 26 to February 13, 2015 to attend a seminar. What is the updated travel advisory? Is it really dangerous right now? The places I plan to visit are Sid El-Bouchrieh and Mar Elias in Beirut. Advises from citizens and tourists who have visited Lebanon lately are much appreciated. Thanks!
We returned from 5 days Libanon. Thank you all for your advices. Bad experience with Nakhal, You can read it on Tripadvisor. Harissa wasn't our thing. We ate at Assi's, no alcohol, and the other days at Leila's, with alcohol.
Strange that Lebanon is a dollar country. Even Byblos bank couldn't exchange a 50 euro note intor smaller pieces.
Last day was at Rotana Gefinor's pool, St.George's had already closed.
Great country, very nice people. We never felt insecure!
Hello again. Next week we're in Beirut. We are glad that the main road in het Beka valley is no longer blocked so we can visit Baalbek on Monday.
Now the question. On Tuesday we have no activity planned. If the weather is fine we would like to have a swim or to lounge somewhere near a pool. Do you have any suggestions? Hopefully something will be open since we are in October.
Anyone an idea where I can find a good Lebanese restaurant in Beirut? Our hotel is in the Verdun area. Many thanks!!
Hello again. As mentioned, in October we will be 3 full days in Beirut. One day we'll go to Anjar/Baalbek/Ksara, inshallah. One day we'll reserve for sun and sea if we are lucky. Remains the Sunday. It should be an organised tour unless it is a place nearby, then we can grab a taxi. What should we do: Byblos/Jeita/Harissa or Beiteddine/Deir el Qamar or Tyre/Sidon/Maghdouche. Or any other suggestions? It should be at least a safe place.
Thank you in advance!
i plan to travel to Lebanon next month..and i will need a sim mobile phone to use it and use internet by it...so i want to know how much it cost..and how much if i want to rent a small car
My wife and I will visit Lebanon in October for some days. I thought to visit Byblos and Harissa as well as Baalbek, Anjar and Ksare. As for the latter, I understand that nobody can tell me by now what the level of thread is in October. But hopefully someone can tell me how it is right now. I mean, are still lots of tourists visiting Baalbek despite all advises from governments? Are they travelling with a police escort (as in Egypt when visiting Luxor)? Are there no hostile activities in the past days?
Second question, does the airport have ATM's where I can get my Lenabese pounds and are there enough in Beirut itself? Stupid question but you never know.
Looking forward hearing from you.
I am planning to visit beirut in September. I am not going to spend any time in the south of Beirut. Do you guys feel it is safe to travel. I hear contradicting responses.
I'm planning to travel to Lebanon in August of 2014. I will be attending one of my good friend's wedding.
I am not up to date on the political issues there but members of my family have warned me about potential bombings, etc... Is it really that dangerous right now? Are there areas to stay away from completely? My goal was to attend the wedding but I wanted to check out the local touristy spots and nightlife.
I' going to Lebanon for a week with my ex boyfriend and some friends to stay at his parents house. His mother will be there while we stay. Any tips on what I should bring or how I should behave during my stay? Anything I can do to make a good impression?
Hi all! I am going to Lebanon at the end of this month. The CDC recommends that I get vaccinated (Hepatitis A and Typhoid fever) before going, but i just found out that my health insurance won't cover these shots.
It is going to cost me $200-300 to get vaccinated, and I am just trying to figure out if it is worth it. I don't know if these are actual risks in Lebanon. I am coming from the US and I eat pretty healthy here, so I don't want to spend my trip sick. But I also don't want to blow all my spending money on unnecessary shots.
Please help! Thanks!
i have been wondering if it is safe to travel to lebanon from june 10th for 20 days. ive done some research but im still not sure. im going to be going to Beirut only so i wont be going to other places.
i am wanting to travel this summer to visit a friend in Lebanon. he lives in tripoli. i have read all the warnings and done a lot of research and i feel that it would be completely safe to go...but my parents disagree. how can i make them know that we wont die if we visit Lebanon? i know there is some risks but it is something i have been wanting to do for months.
i don't know how to make them understand it is actually safe. can you help by giving your advice on if it would be safe to visit in august 2014 and any other advice you have. thank you
I'm looking at an internship in Beirut but I'm concerned about safety. Is it safe for an American woman to travel alone in Lebanon?
