There is Massachusetts St (also called Mass, or Mass St.) it is downtown Lawrence. The street is lined with shops, restaurants, clubs, bars and cafes. it's a nice place to stroll around. About this time of year every Thursday from Noon to 1 p.m. is the Brown Bag Concert Series, at the US. Bank Plaza, 9th & Mass. Bring your lunch and a lawn chair. (Folding chairs provided, if needed.) FREE event. There is the museum of natural history on KU Campus [original link], Nearby is Kansas City. There is the Legends Outlet Mall with Legends 14 movie theater [original link], and Schlitterbahn Water Park [original link]/kc (huge water park and they are still adding and growing) There is Power Play indoor entertainment center in Shawnee, KS [original link], there are two indoor/outdoor paintball places, but they are on the Missouri side of Kansas city, and I didn't know if you wanted to drive that far for entertainment [original link] and [original link] ...and of course, there is Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun [original link], they used to be two separate amusement parks with two separate fees, but they tore down the wall between them and now it's one huge park with one price. Hope this helps and happy travels!
