I'm and my husband will travelling to Sapa at mid Nov, we are independent and
would like to know:
1. Is it easy to get transport to Saomai Hotel from train station?
2. How far is sunday market from that hotel?
3. I also consider to hire a jeep, may i know what is the cost and where can
Would love to get feed back from anyone.
You should have the hotel meet the train (this is important, because many have been scammed). Normally they charge about2. to get to Sapa from the train. You don't say which market - do you mean Bac Ha? Bac Ha is a good 3 hr drive from Sapa. You should also ask your hotel about the jeep - most hotels in Vietnam also run a travel desk.
There are 2 options for the transfer from the train station to Sao Mai hotel:
+ By local bus: It is very easy. You could find it in front of the train station
+ By shuttle bus from your hotel in Sapa: You could contact the hotel and asking them if they could arrange the transfer for you.
The sunday market is quite far from hotel your as it located in different direction. You will need a full day to visit this market.
If you would like to hire a jeep, contact with your hotel or travel agent in Sapa. They are very happy to arrange it for you.
there is a bus from Lao Cai to Bac Ha around 4US$/a person(when the bus full at that time they will leaving).you can rend a car at 65US$.you can check with :www.adventureindochina.com they can do very well for you,the market is very near Sao Mai hotel(only 10 minutes by foot).have a good trip to Viet Nam.
