Drive all along the river Mosel from Koblenz to Tier?

I'll make a road trip, I already have an itinerary and I can not change much, I wonder if it worth instead of going by the highway to stay all along the river Mosel from Koblenz to Tier, and how long will it take by this road?

The idea is to have lunch in the city of luxamburg in the afternoon is planned to make another road along the river Semois already in Belgium.

The direct route from Koblenz to Trier is about 130 kilometres, and takes 1:15 hours on the motorway.

The route along the Mosel river is about 260 kilometres and takes about four hours. Of course, it would be the more scenic and unforgettable drive. But it needs plenty of time and a leisurely pace. An additional problem would be that you would want to stop every few minutes and visit the lovely romantic towns along the road.

If you resist stopping everywhere and you start really early (particularly getting out of Koblenz before the morning commuting hours) and plan for lunch in Luxemburg at 1pm you could still do the drive along the river. Really a much more memorable tour.
