Lake placid over thanksgiving

THinking of coming with three kids (11,8,6) and grandparents over thanksgiving. We like to hike and be outside but we are not hardcore. Is this an in between time for doing things? Is it too cold to enjoy the outside activities with little one? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Late November is pretty cold and it is not uncommon to get a little snow by that time. Hiking could be difficult but you may also have a stint of nice weather. The Adirondacks are always unpredictable.

Thanksgiving begins ski season in the Adirondacks, the mountains will have snow, the trees will be bare & when the sun goes down it will be below freezing.
