Ko Chang road and acommodation  (5 Answers)

Hi all,
I'm planning to stay at Koh Chang from mid November to mid December and have some question.
Is it possible to get from Bang Bao Bay to Salak Phet Bay? Various maps show that there is no road between these two places and I was wandering it this is still true.

I would like to stay somewhere that is within 30 minutes walking from a clean beach that is not crowded. Any good beaches come to mind?

Thank you in advance for your reply!

hiring entertainment  (5 Answers)

Hello. I was wondering if you can help.
I am getting in married in Koh Chang on April 5th. It is just a small wedding on the beach and for after the meal we want a singer/guitarist to play (background music and so people can have a dance, new music and classics). Our previous entertainer is unable to attend and wondered if there is anyone you can recommend? Your help is very much appreciated.
Many thanks

Ian

gas cylinders for portable gas stove on Koh Chang  (5 Answers)

Hi everyone!

I wonder if it's possible to buy a gas cylinder of any type for a gas stove like this one on Koh Chang?
We are about to bring it from home and use it for cooking and I need to know which adapter we will need for that since I don't believe we can find anything that fits the stove without an adapter.
Thank you!

Koh Chang beaches  (4 Answers)

Hei! we are a couple (30 years) and going on our first trip to thailand and we will be staying the first nights in Bangkok and we are thinking about Koh Chang rather than Koh samui and Phuket. How long is the trip from Bangkok to Koh Chang and how do we get there?

can anyone recommend a hotel with a nice beach and some activities nearby like snorkelling, trips and maybe some adrenalin tours? And also are there any safaris or elephant trekking on the island or a place you can experience animals (wild or trained)?

Is Koh Chang a place with everything like shopping, nightlife, many restaurants, markets and other things?

Any advise is very helpful :)

Best regards, Sigga :)

Koh Chang "town"  (1 Answer)

Hi! We are a couple early 30's deciding whether Koh Chang will suit our holiday needs. We don't need "nightlife" as such, just want to make sure there are options for escaping the resort for meals etc. What is available in "the town" in terms of shops and restaurants? Is it similar in size to Fishermen's Village in Bophut, Koh Samui? We thought that had the perfect mix of things. And is there a night market we can browse for souvenirs etc? Thanks for your help!

Young Family advice?  (3 Answers)

Hi there,
Just looking at the moment for options. We've a family of 4 with 2 young kids. After any recommendations for midrange beachside resorts -. Happy being near & restaurants bars (but not smack-bang in the middle).
I hear of a fullmoon/halfmoon party beach... obviously don't want to be there (unless I research my lunar calendar properly).

Cheers in advance.

What beach is the best beach for thirty-somethings?  (4 Answers)

Hi guys! I will be living on Ko Chang island for at least six months to a year. I hear Lonely Beach is the place to be; however, I am over thirty-five and don't want to party every night all night. I want to live in a bungalow preferably on the beach (but I'm open), where there is a more laid-back mature crowd (like thirty- somethings), who party on weekends and maybe hit the bars just a few days out of the week. I will be running my internet business and just don't want to be kept up all night every night. Any suggestions?

Koh Chang to Malaysia  (3 Answers)

Hi I'm thinking of going to Koh Chang for about 8 days and then I'd like to spend about 5 days on a beach in Malaysia (not sure where). Is there direct transport from Koh Chang to a nice place in Malaysia? Can you recommend somewhere in Malaysia ... and how to get there?

What I'm trying to avoid is having to go from Trat - Bangkok - to KL - to somewhere else ... it will take up too much time!

Pattaya to Ko Chang  (2 Answers)

Is there a good bus to Ko Chang from Pattaya? A bus with good seats, maybe a restroom. Where does it leave from? What time does it run? How often does it go? What is the cost and the time it takes? I have seen an ad for VIP bus, but it looks like they never got off the ground. Thanks!

Where to stay on the Island?  (1 Answer)

Hi,

We want to visit Koh Chang when we travel to Thailand. Now we need to decide which part to go to on the Island. Hope you have some suggestions. We like some luxury and quiet beaches that have snorkeling possibilities. Furthermore we like local food and some relaxed bars. So we are not looking for the main tourist area, but there must be some activity around us. So a bit like Sairee beach at Koh Tao 10 years ago.

Regards, Roelof

Travel from Bangkok to Ko Chang  (5 Answers)

we arrive in Bangkok about 3 pm on a thursday at the end of June - and want a week on a tranquil beach somewhere. can anyone help us with the following questions:
- Can we get to Ko chang that day or are we better off staying the night in Bangkok?
- As there are four of us (two adults and two kids) - would it be best to get a taxi or a bus?
- Any suggestions of a nice, relaxing area in Ko Chang where we can try to find accommodation? Would prefer somewhere not too commercial...
- We'd like a bungalow on the beach - doesn't have to be fancy, just clean and with nice sea views somewhere without late night parties :)

Grateful for any suggestions :)
