Hello to everyone!
This year i will make a trip to Sweden, Lithuania and Latvia. During this journey I will also be for a whole day in Klaipeda. I've searched on the Internet for someone who organize a group tour along the curonian spit(see some dunes, etc,... )Unfortunately the companies I've found offered only private tours(at least 2 persons), but I didn't found anybody to "collect" travellers for a group tour. Can somebody give the name of a company which organizes group tours, or is this the wrong way and I should explore the spit on myself? Thanks in advance for any help and advice.
Do i need to book a tour or can I see enough when I go on my own ?
Is there a hop on&off bus ? or similar ?
We're traveling to Klaipeda on a cruise and hoping to change money as infrequently as p ossible. I know Lithuania has its own currency, but will the markets in Klaipeda take Euros also? We're hoping to buy yarn and knitwear.
I am wondering if it is possible to rent bikes, preferably long term, for example in Nida or Palanga, if there are special rental shops, or if hotels provide rental services? Thanks!
i am going to klaipeda ferry terminal from Klaipeda us statio. who can tell me how can i?
I ,an Indian businessman intend to visit places like Telisiai,Kanto,Silgaliai,Tilsez etc from Klaipeda as I have to visit a couple of factories ( Ruta ,Milk.LT, Zematijos pienas,Vilke etc ) which are located at a good distance.
My worry is whether I would be able to hire a cab with a driver to cover these locations in 02 days or not. Since the factories are located at distant places will I be able to get buses or any other means of transport to reach there?
Also advice whether it would be very cold during the 2nd half of October'13.
Thanks & Cheers !
I'm going to study in Klaipeda for a semester (sept-dec 2013) and looking for an apartment to rent around the main street: Herkaus Manto street. Does anyone living there have a spare room for rent or knows of furnished apartments (2-4 persons) in that neighbourhood that can be rented for 4 months for a reasonable price? The real estate agents are pretty expensive, as are the apartments and houses they are renting out.
We will be in the Klaipeda area for two or three days in two weeks. Should we stay in Klaipeda the whole time and do day trips to the split or stay in NIda or Juodkrante for a night? We will probably rent bikes and take them on the ferry so Juodkrante may be a better option than Nida. Would there be enough activity at night in Juodkrante? Nothing wild but maybe a bar to have a few drinks.

My friend and I are going to Klaipeda for 3 days in October. We would like to see the Curonian Spit, and we are wondering what is the easiest way getting there? We would also like to visit Nida and Palanga - are they worth a visit and what is the "must sees"?
Do you have any other recommendations for things to see in the Klaipeda area, places to eat, shopping and spa treatments?
And what is the weather like these days? Should we bring a warm coat, scarf etc?

Hi! Can anybody here help me to find a small apartment or a room to rent for three to four months in Klaipeda? I need it from June to September 2006 (maybe longer). I am writing a book, and I would like to pick up some Lithuanian culture and atmosphere. My budget is not so big, I can just afford up to 200 USD/month for rent.
Hope to get some good contacts!
Thanks in advance
Nobody from Klaipeda knows anything about some cheap and good accomodation in that city? I don´t look for expensive hotels and I heard non-good words about Old city hostel. Maybe some room in privat for 3-4 nights from 7-10 Euro/night, hmm?
