I´m planning to visit Keukenhof and I´d love to see the tulip fieöds as well. I know that everythings depends on the weather and how the winter was. Could anybody help me with with the best termin of my visit?
Is it too early on 5th April?

Thanks in advance.....

As you stated, so much depends on conditions that vary from year to year. I have been twice in early April and the first time the blooms where much more advanced but even the second was wonderful. Maybe someone closer will come and give you an idea about this year.

I'm afraid this year the tulips/flowers will be quite late, as we still have very cold weather in the Netherlands and the weather forecast for the next week is not much better.
There will be not very much in bloom on 5th April. Your best chance is indeed the Keukenhof (although today there was 'nothing' in bloom).

If possible I would recommend a visit late April.

I agree with the previous. Cold nights were coming and going during the last month and some trees may have gotten some "frost bite". Luckely the Keukenhof also has hot houses, so a visit will be partly worth while. Full outside blossom will need another 2 weeks.

Of course the botanists at Keukenhof are specialists and will always manage to have something in bloom at all times.

The website tells us the current status:

"Flowering status Keukenhof is a park that changes according to nature. The long winter with many cold and snowy days are the reason that the bloom has started later than usual. But it is now changing rapidly in the park. At the moment the crocuses are in bloom and within the next few days the first tulips will start blooming. Keukenhof and flowers belong together. This year 100,000 additional tulips and other bulb flowers have been placed in containers. By doing so the park looks colourful already. The Willem-Alexander pavilion is now blooming beautifully showing thousands of bulbous flowers. The orchid show in the Beatrix pavilion is absolutely amazing and this also applies to the tulip show in the Oranje Nassau pavilion."
