I can tell you where I WOULDN'T recommend, and that's Hotel Thermal (see the Google search list posted above). It's a horrible concrete monstrosity that's a relic of the Stalinist era, and to add insult to injury, an entire terrace of Karlovy Vary's gorgeous architecture was knocked down in order to construct this carbuncle on the face of the landscape.
I was there for a five day conference a couple of years ago, and although there's nothing actually wrong with the hotel and food, it's as sullen and unwelcoming as the architecture. It's onyl redeeming feature is that it has a very nice swimming pool which is set onto the slope of the valley and commands a lovely view over the rest of the town.
In terms of pampering yourself, one 'free' treatment is to wander through the woods above the town - quite a steep climb, but well worth it (or if you feel lazy or just too laid back, there is a funincular that will take you to the viewpoint).
If youré in the area, a trip to the gorgeous nearby town of Loket is also well worth the effort - it has a truly breathtaking setting and seems almost untouched by the passage of time.
My wife stayed at Concordia hotel last year and has rebooked this year.
So much to do thee apparently,as previosly stated the walk in the hills, the general ambience of the town and the spa treatment.
This hotel is part of a complex.
Accommodation very comfortable (not luxurious but ok) food next door at the main hotel again pretty good.
