African renting in Kampala

Hello everyone,
I know this is not a "travel" question but one that I would love help with. I have sponsor families living in or near Kampala and was wondering if anyone knew rougly how much rent would be a month in the houses that poor African families live in. Even a rough estimate would be great as I can't find anything when I "google" it.
Many thanks,

Hi Iam new to this Forum But would like to Answer your Questions

a Real poor African Family Living in A slum Area would pay averagely for a Single/Two roomed house with electricity but no water between 30,000-60,000 Ugand Shillings ie about 18-35 Us Dollars exchange @ 1700 Ugx for 1 Usd.
ie Location also matters
I Think This will answer your question and feel free to ask anything not clear

If you have read, some one have posted same question; according to their answers, it can be estimated roughly, 20.00 - 60.00US equivalent to 40.000 - 110.000 Ugandan shillings, that's really cheap, and it might be little harder to find in the city center. If You want a quite place, Enttebe would better but few mils away. u can go to upper Kampala, "Kololo" where riches Ugandan live, can be little expensive but it's nicer.

You can try Mengo it is quite and50.00 can do for you
!However, its not possible as landlords demand 3 months rent for beginners. for more information, let me know if i can connect you to someone who can help you!
