Taman Mini

Hi all! Can anyone share information on how to go to Taman Mini from MONAS? Hopefully, in a affordable but convenient way (like a bus), perhaps. How long would be the traveling time on a Saturday? How much would it cost per person, estimated?

Once at Taman Mini, what is the suggested transportation to go around (since we are not driving but arriving by public transportation).

What are the MUST SEE things in Taman Mini?

Thank you for your help!

you can go to Taman Mini using taxy from Soekarno Hatta airport. I not recomended by bus, because the criminality on jakarta is very hight. Just say you want to go to TMII(Taman Mini Indonesia Indah) and you will be there by an hour.

You must see:
Museum Transportasi
Teater Imax Keong Mas
freshwater aquarium pond(kolam aquarium air tawar)
and others, you can see all on the brochure gived to you soon

From Monas you can go by Transjakarta (bus way) from the bus stasion closed to the Monas gate about 3.500 rupiah, you should ask to the bus crew because you must take several transit. Finally, you can stop at Taman Mini stasion or Pasar Rebo stasion. If you stop at Pasar Rebo station, you must take public car which goes to Taman Mini about 2000 rupiah.

I suggest you to take Taxi. But make sure that you take Blue Bird Taxi. Many blue taxi but some of them are not Blue Bird one. Just browse the image of blue bird Taxi. It is reliable taxi service in jakarta. I dont think they will charge you high as you will travel on saturday. They use meter.
The traffict on weekend in Jakarta is quite easy. No trafict jam at all normally. Plenty Blue Bird taxi around Monas.
Jakarta is quite safe. But yes only certain area is not safe. Not all the city. So... no worries... Just enjoy Jakarta..
Happy travelling...

For your safety, Please take a morning trip and return back the same route before five am !!!!.
From Monas head on to the Bus Halt near water fountain or near horse statue, just below a cross bridge, take an "air conditioned" bus to Kampung Rambutan bus terminal which cost around IDR 10,000 (ten thousand rupiah more or less)it will take about an hour, as bus crew pick the bus charge, tell him that you will to Taman Mini.
From Kampung Rambutan Bus terminal, take red color minivan ANGKOT which waiting to load up to 8 to 10 passengers(check to the police officer/terminal officer, regognized by his custom) the number of red angkot to Taman Mini and cost about three to five thousand rupiahs, tell the driver that you would off Taman Mini and just say him "Taman Mini", it would take about 15 to 30 minutes to Taman Mini and Angkot would stop at the front gate of Taman Mini.
Taman Mini Entrance fee is nine thousand rupiah per person, and check to the ticket officer where to get a bicycle rental to getting around Taman Mini (the more convenient transportation to take around).
MUST SEE things in Taman Mini: All 33 Indonesian Provincial Stand with their Housing Models. Bird Parks, Aquarium Fish, A JUMBO SCREEN Three dimension movie theatre at KEONG MAS: the good movie is: BEAUTIFUL INDONESIA (don't miss it), an entrance fee to see the movie is thirty thousand rupiahs.
You must be carefull during at public transportation, avoid someone who offer you some drinks or the like, also if someone offer you to be a guide, just keep smiling and denie him by say Terimakasih, if you not sure he is good or bad, every where in the world, there were always good and bad. HAVE a Nice Trip to Indonesia. Regards from Gani, Bogor
