Isla Mujeres

isla mujeres romantic holiday on a budget

Hi there.

There is so much info to sift through on here so I thought I would start my own thread and see if anyone has any good advice :)

I would like to surprise my boyfriend for his 50th and bring him to Isla. He will be recovering from a knee operation so minimal walking is best.
I think we would like to be near the beach/town… but you tell me? The island looks so pretty maybe its ok to be away from it a bit and taxi
now and then. if we arent close to town, then maybe we need access to a pool.

A private bungalow/appt would be great too. AC is a must I think. Budget is also a must so I am looking for a great deal in a nice, clean, funky
inexpensive place. Too much to ask?

I am thinking of a week to 10 days in March..

Thank you for reading this.
Any advice appreciated!!

ps- it is soooooo cold in British Columbia!! Sheesh!

We stayed in just such a place, the Playa Media Luna. It is right on the beach and has a nice pool. It is a short distance from the middle of town so you might want a taxi. The hotel has hammocks with each room so your BF could relax and enjoy the view. Here is the website: playa-media-luna.islamujeres... Hope you have a great time.

Due to extreme climatic changes the World is experiencing at the moment, trying to predict the weather can be difficult because of local, on the day variations.
Most places now are seeing weather conditions well outside the norm.
The information below should be used as a guide only.

Here is the average weather for Cancun for this time of year.
Enjoy your holiday.

High 86f / 30c
Low 66f / 19c
Rain 1.40in / 36.0mm
Rain days 3
Hours of sun 8
Daylight hours 12
UV level 11 = Extreme
Humidity level = 78.5 %
Sea temp 79f / 26c

That should be warm enough for you :o)

thanks so much for the posts to both of you. YES looks warm... ahhhhhh warmth!

I would prefer to have a place with a wee kitchen to make the odd meal. Has anyone stayed at a nice, budget, clean ROMANTIC spot on the north part of the Island, or close to town?? So many to review and who knows if they actually look like the pictures or the discriptions.

Any advise??

Thanks again!!
