would inishmore be a nice place to live?
Well, what would you do for a living? There are fewer than 1,000 people who live there, and it really doesn't have any industry other than tourism and making sweaters (if they still do that). If you wanted to get off the island, you'd have to take a ferry or a short plane ride to Galway - not the sort of thing you necessarily do on a whim. During tourist season (summer), a lot of people come to Inishmore, to enjoy the fort at Dun Aengus, the local pubs, and the ubiquitous Gaelic (still the first language, although everyone speaks English as well). But off-season, there would be just you and the locals. It's peaceful, it's pretty, it's away from the busy world, but what do you do after the first week? On the other hand, if you were the solitary type who also wanted to write the great novel of the 21st century and needed somewhere to really get away while still being in the civilized world, then Inishmore might be just the place after all...
