Hi there! My girfriend is going to study and live in Hyde Park at the Cullinary Institute of America. I decided to live there with her , and to study in a Comunity College, since I dont have enough money to pay a private one. I decided to study something related to Hotel and Tourism. Therefore i visited the [original link] to find out what colleges offers those courses. There are lots of them. The problem is , that I have no ideas , which colleges are far from where im going to live. I mean , I dont know if I can get in these colleges by train, how long it takes, if is worth going there everyday. The colleges available are... DELHI / Broome / Schenectady / Tompkins Cortland / Clinton / Plattsburgh / Finger Lakes / Genesee / Sullivan County / Mohawk Valley / Onondaga / Erie / Dutchess / Jefferson / Morrisville / Buffalo If you know how to go from Hyde Park to at least one of these colleges, or how to help me discovering this information please let me know. Dutchess is the closest. You also have SUNY New Paltz across the Hudson river from Poughkeepsie.
Dutchess Community College would be closest to Hyde Park. Mapquest.com estimates 7 miles between Hyde Park, NY and Poughkeepsie, NY. If you do not have access to a car then you have to rely on the bus or taxi as a form of transportation. Hi thank you both!!! Thank you very much!!! I would love to study at dutchess.... it is one of the cheapest, and it is surely the clostest. But i still dont know if its a good college. And I think its to risky to apply in only one college. I could be not accepted. I already choosen dutchess, however I dont know much about there. You can also look for other alternatives at: [original link] They publish college guides in the US and the website provides statistics on getting in, selectivity, address, etc. When you go to the site do a search: Location - New York Major - click on detailed listing for "business management and administrative services" and check/select "hospitality/administration management", and "hotel/motel and restaurant management", and "travel-tourism management". This search should give you 2 pages in the state of New York. To find out how far a city is from Hyde Park, just go to [original link] and do driving directions from Hyde Park, NY to {cityname}, NY while leaving the address line blank. The two major colleges in the area are Dutchess Communty College and SUNY New Paltz. Sullivan County is about 80 miles away. The rest are well over 100 miles away.
