I´m going to HK in mid November and wonder if anyone have some advice (store? area? ie.) where I can find:
Please tell me about your favourite hiking trails in Hong Kong.
I´m looking for day hikes, 2-5 hours. They don´t have to be advanced, I´m more looking for nice sceneries, spectacular views and "freedome".
Any advice that will meet my expectations?
Hi.. we will be going to HK in mid November.
Any ideas what to pack? Dont wanna end up bringing unnecessary clothings.
Many thanks in advance!
We are three Irish friends in our fifties and sixties .We are going to Hong Kong for three days on 26th October and then going to Vietnam We are on a fairly tight budget We have booked the Pearl Guest House Lodging Room 6A, 6/F, Mirador Mansion, 54-64Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, We realise it is a budget option but are happy enough with basic accommodation so long as it is clean and safe with good transport links . However this is a once in a lifetime trip so we could push the boat out a bit if anyone had recommendations. Nightlife is important, we like live music, good atmosphere nice food on a budget. We are not very interested in museums more in getting the feel of the city .shopping malls do not attract us . Markets are high on our list .We like quirky things There are a few things that we think we would like to see Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery, the view from Victoria Peak, Ride the Star Ferry, see the lights display. Possibly the big Budda, perhaps visit Central Hong Kong park
Is the guest house location good? Any recommendations for an alternative location and accommodation would be much appreciated Is the night life good in this area? Any recommendations for live music particularly jazz
1. How much hong kong dollar to bring for a 2 weeks of hong kong? exclude hotel/flight?
2. How much is it for a bus/taxi ride from HK airport to YHA mei ho youth hostel? and which one is a better option?

Does anyone know if there is a restriction on the number of days an overseas visitor can stay in a year in HK? I am NOT referring to the number of days in ONE trip but the cumulative days spent over a year.
For example in mainland China, one is not allowed to stay more than 180 days in any one-year period otherwise they have to pay tax.
HK has a different immigration policy but I cannot find this info from the Internet. Or maybe there's no such restriction?
Any recommendations on where to buy prescription glasses in Hong Kong or Shenzhen? We will be traveling to both cities in a week.
Is it better to get visa at border or in Hong Kong. The Chinese National Day holiday in on Oct. 10.
Hi there! If I'll be coming from the Peak Tram Lower Terminus, what's the best way to go to Tsim Sha Tsui if I were to take the Star Ferry? Please include where I can buy the tickets for the ferry ride and the estimated time it will take. Thank you!
We are planning an Asian Cruise and will have a 9 hour layover. Any suggestion what to do?
I’m stopping off in Hong Kong for a couple of days on my way to Vietnam and I’d love to capture some of my HK experience on film (well SD card). However I’m new to photography and would love to have a guide who could help me get the most out of my camera. It would also be great to get some local advice on where to go
Having a look online a lot of the photography tours are quiet expensive for half a day (HK$2000/£170), so I was wondering if anyone knew of any cheaper alternatives.
We have a 10 hours layover between flights coming home to the UK from Australia and propose using an airport lounge. Which is the most convenient lounge for Cathay flights to Europe?
We have a 10 hour lay-over between flights when we return from Australia next year. We propose booking into a lounge for the duration, however there seems to be several. Our flight to the UK is with Cathay Pacific going to Manchester. Which lounge should we book?

1. How much is the taxi fare from HKIA to Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal? I'm with 3 other friends, and we will probably bring 2 or 3 luggages only.
2. Is it cheaper to go straight from HKIA to Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, or taking a taxi from HKIA to Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal first then board a ferry from there (to Macau, of course.)? Considering the ferry ticket plus taxi fares.
And last question,
3. If I take a bus / train from HKIA to Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal, how much does it cost per person?
Please answer, anyone? I'm really in need of your help. Thank you in advance! :-)

I will be landing in Hong Kong after a 6 day trip in Taiwan. I will be there for 2 days only. My flight lands at around 10 PM on June 12th and I leave at noon on June 14. I know this is a very short trip, but it is a stopover between business trips and this is all the time that I have. I want to know what should and can do during this time that I have. I don't mind giving up on a couple of hours of sleep and start exploring the place right from the night that I land. Also please suggest which place would be the most popular to stay at. I've heard of Kowloon Tsim Sha Tsui and the Causeway. Would really appreciate it if you'll can help me with this one. To make things easier, I am an open traveller and love exploring cultural aspects of the city as well as the modern side of it.
Prices in HK are considerably higher than most other places . Would like something clean and safe with private bath if possible (but not required) in a location that is accessible for sightseeing and walking around.I need your advice, thanks!

Which area is the best if I want to be close to sightseeing, shopping, restaurants, public transport.
Central, HK Island?
Are there any coach departures from Hong Kong Airport to Guangzhou New Baiyun Airport before 7 am? I wish to know the ways to connect to a domestic flight in Guangzhou at 12.05 pm from Hong Kong Airport. Or is Dragonair flight the only way to reach New Baiyun Airport in a short time?
I know the area is in Lan Kwai Fong. Is there any good clubs that i shouldn't miss and its real good?
Preferably not too young crowd.
what is the dress code for temples in hong kong thanks
Hi I will be traveling to Hong Kong this coming 7 of May for 5 days and would like to do a bit of everything. Shopping, sightseeing, visit attractions, nightlife and of course enjoy some local good food. I read a few posts before hand and many have mention to get an octopus card. Will do so to ease my traveling!
For the first day is mainly entitled to shopping. Is there any good places to buy clothes and hand bags for both cheap and branded? Hopefully, I'm able to kill two birds with a stone within the same mall. And also electronic shopping. A mall that does repairs/buys/sells/trade electronic goods. Hoping to repair my iPhone 5 and trade it or sell it.
For the second day I'll be heading down to Disneyland as I can't remember the last time I've been to one. Is there another cheaper alternative to get the tickets? Would be spending an entire day there. Any idea of what's there to do after?
Thirdly, I'll be visiting Macau. Anything that I shouldn't miss out in Macau? Would not be spending an entire day there. Will go there in the morning and back in the late evening.
Thank you in advance. Hope to hear from you guys soon. Sorry for being so lengthy.
I'm new to this forum. I've just got a job in July and August in Hong Kong and I'm looking for a place to stay on Lamma Island with my partner and little boy. Can anyone give me any advice?
