Hilton Head Island

Dolphins in late March

We are currently staying in shipyard plantation until the day before Easter. I would love to know where the best places to view dolphins are at and if they're best seen at high tide or lower. We will be taking a dolphin cruise near the end of our stay but we'd all love to view them sooner! Thank you all.

One idea would be to go to Harbourtown; walk behind the lighthouse and you will see a pier. Walk out on that pier around low or mid-tide. Be patient and you may see some dolphin. They do most of their feeding at low tide, so that is probably your best chance. If you ever go kayaking, the same "rule" would apply. Most of the birds are active and feeding at low tide when the mudbanks are exposed.
