I will be in Hanoi from 12 to 13 April 2013. Besides visiting the Hanoi office of VietJetAir, watch the puppet performance and visit Hoan Kiem Lake, what can i do in Hanoi in 2 Days 1 Night?
I would suggest having a look at peoples pages on Hanoi for ideas. Copy and paste link for what I did there.

I liked walking the Old quarter and the French quarter, visiting Ho Chi Minh's museum, mausoleum, and his house & garden, the Ethnology museum was very interesting, quite a few temples and much more.
It depends on your interests - we went to the Hoa Lo Prison where the VC held US PoWs and the Vietnam Military History Museum which documents the war from the French occupation onwards. And as the previous reply states, Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and House are worth a trip too; the Mausoleum if only for the officialdom about how to stand and how to walk - fascinating.
Are there tourist scams in those Hanoi destinations mentioned such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum? I have read enough taxi scams. The Jasmine Hotel says taxi scams are everywhere in Hanoi.
I am considering whether Hanoi Citadel is worth visiting. It is a UNESCO Heritage Site but Vietnam Tourism under-promotes on the international travel market.
Is there anything to see at Syrena Tower in Tay Ho District besides Air Mekong branch office there? On Hanoi tourist map, Tay Ho District is far from Hoan Kiem Lake. Does anyone know the standard taxi fare to Syrena Tower from Hoan Kiem Lake?
Is it safe to explore Hanoi Hoan Kiem District by foot?
What I first did in Hanoi, was negotiated a price with a cyclo driver for a big tour of Hanoi. We went everywhere. He could speak English and gave me a commentary along the way and took my photo in places. I used him on more than one occasion because of this. I loved seeing the sights by cyclo, and so easy to take photo's too! Afterwards, I then went back to the areas I wanted to see more of. Scams are everywhere, read peoples tourist traps and warnings and dangers so you are aware of what to expect.
Visit the Temple of Literature and the infamous 'Hanoi Hilton' (Hoa Lo prison).
Are cyclo riders honest? How much did you pay the rider for a one-day big tour of Hanoi?
How about motorcycle taxis or xe om?
If you go to the Hoa Lo prison, I would recommend the Vietnamese women's museum
which is very close to there, a real eye-opener.
What is unique about Vietnamese Women's Museum?
Unique in the fact that at least one country in the world accepts women as equals, and this museum recognises that fact, showing the work women have done through the ages via the tools and clothes, plenty of photos as well. A good section on the part played by the women during the "Vietnam wars".
May i know how much to pay for travelling from Hoan Kiem District Lo Su Street to Air Mekong office at Syrena Tower, 51 Xuan Dieu, Tay Ho District by taxi?
Hi, If you get a taxi: it costs less than 10$. The popular taxi brands are: Hanoi group, Mai Linh, Morning, Thanh Nga, Van Xuan... If you get a motobike-taxi (xe om): ard 5-6$. You must be brave enough coz they always drive fast while many motor bikes and cars moving around you;) Or you can get a bus, this is very cheap and safe but you should read the map and choose the right bus or you will easily loose the way. Hope You will have a nice trip in Hanoi
there are many places to visit, you can contact me for further instruction when you visit Hanoi, I'm just a Hanoi girl who love travelling and being a free tour guide :D
Can you guide me how to travel from VietjetAir's office in Hanoi to 12 Ngo Van So Quan, then to Indochina Airlines' office, Jetstar Pacific Airlines before returning to The Jasmine Hotel?
I suggest some famous destinations you should not miss in Hanoi: Hochiminh complex, One Pillar pagoda, Temple of Literature, West Lake, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Ngoc Son temple, Hoan Kiem Lake, The Old quarter.
Museum: Vietnamese Women's Museum, Hoa Lo prison, Army museum...
seeing the sights by cyclo, enjoy water puppet show.
Bat Trang pottery village
The interesting places that must be visited are are Hoan Kiem Lake and the Water Puppet Theatre. No time for famous pagodas and temples in Hanoi.
Do you mean you didn't have enough "no time", or can't be bothered "no time"?
Not enough time. It takes patience to cross streets in Hanoi as well.
Well you have to cross the street to get to the lake, and cross it back again to get to the theatre....
