Haarlem P&R

Visitng Haarlem for one day before returning a car in Amsterdam Need to find a place to park the car.

Could not find any place for free other than the 2 P&R places. How much is it to take the train (or woud it be a bus) from each of these P&R's to Haarlem central?

And how much to take a train from Amsterdam to Haarlem? Since another option would be to return the car in Amsterdam first, and then take a train to Haarlem.

Thanks

This site has info about parking in Haarlem. It's in Dutch but pretty easy to work out:

prettigparkeren.nl/kaart/#!H...

I can't tell you about the P&R bus/train (both P&R have stations) but you can find train times, details and fares in English on the official Netherlands railway website:

http://www.ns.nl/en

But Amsterdam Centraal > Haarlem only costs 4.20 euro one-way so I'd suggest you drop off the car in Amsterdam and visit Haarlem by train. It's very easy to do so, Haarlem station is very near the historic centre and the town itself is very walkable.

On the map of 'Leics' you see road N200, at the end of that raos - nearby the city centre - zoom in and you will find the 'Zuidpolderstraat' and 'Severijnstraat. If you are lucky as I was, you may find a parking place for free.

Happy travels

You also can opt for parking at one of the parking garages (just follow the P-signs). See my tip: [original VT link]

Also have a look at this website for parking options: [original link]

A train return ticket second class is about 8.50 Euros per person. If you are just on your own, that is bout half the price for parking at a Haarlem garage. You probably will be faster by train too, as the traffic in peak hours is congested.

Jdbs3, I see that you post the same question about free parking also for other cities. Are you serious?
