My wife and I will go to Ilulissat at the end of September this year. When we looked at the website of World of Greenland previously, it mentioned that the day tour to Eqip will be last to the end of September. Then we bought the air-tickets and book the accommodation which we will arrive Ilulissat from Copenhagen on 26/9 and fly back on 30/9. However, when I email to WoG to ask the details, they mentioned that the day tour to Eqip will end a little bit earlier. I have also sent emails to few other companies, their replies are similar. After that, I have browsed a lot of travel notes and travel blogs of other travelers who went Ilulissat these few years, they mentioned that they joined this tour even when they traveled Ilulissat in late September or even mid October. Anyone know how we can join the day tour to Eqip between 27/9-29/9. Many thanks in advance. I also checked with Ilulisaat Water Taxi, it is possible to book a private water taxi for 9900dkk for maximum 6 people. Any one interest to join?
Planning a trip to Greenland in September to Kangerlussuaq and Ilusissat and was wondering
1. what type of clothing would be required for Sept, would need to heavy down jacket?
2. can you do dog sledding in Ilusissat at this time of year, looking at just a day tour
3. what other day tours can anyone recommended in Illusissat?
We live in Barcelona. Our idea is to visit Faroe Islands the end of May (23 to 3 June), flying to Faroe via Copenhague . I should like to visit Greeland, perhaps 3 days, flying again from Copenhagen, but I am not sure if to stay in Kangerlus o Nuuk or other place. The fligths arrive first in Kanger.
Any case the experience don't seem very exciting, but Greenland is an iconic island.
May you advise me, please.

Will Disko Bay be frozen at this time or will iceberg cruises be possible? And how many hours of daylight will there be?
We would prefer to travel in winter, but are wondering if late-Feb is too early (although it is difficult for us to travel later than end-Feb or perhaps early March).
anyone know if i will be able to pick some up in Kangerlussuaq when i come to walk the ACT in September?
is nuuk the capitol?
do people up in greenland celebrate "Return of the Sun"?
how do sled dogs act around other people besides their owners?
I am planning a trip to greenland, can anyone recommend a good guide book?
I have tried in vain to get the lonely planet greenland and arctic guidebook published in 2005, but they are too expensive second hand.
Perhaps someone can recommend an alternative, or maybe has a copy of the LP guide they would be willing to sell?
Thanks in advance for your help,
I will spend about 30 hours in Kulusuk (from 10am to 4pm next day) on the 30th of August. Do you think I should take the helicopter to Tasiilaq and spend the time there instead? Thanks!
Sorry, this is a repeat, I posted it in another forum by mistake.
Cruising to Nuuk and Nanortalik, GreenlandPosted: Mon May 2, 2011 09:00 PM EDT Hi,
My friends and I will be cruising to these 2 cities at the beginning of September. As you can imagine, I have a lot of questions as to what to expect. I am very excited about visiting Greenland, so any info about either of these ports would be greatly appreciated.
We will be spending 9AM to 6PM in Nuuk. Any suggestions as to how to get around, and if there are other interesting things to see out of the city. Can you get private tours with a taxi or van? How about shopping? And what special things should I look for to purchase (I love to shop on my vacations to find special items that represent the country i am visiting.)
We will be visiting Nanortalik from 7AM to 4PM. I understand that there are no tours available from our ship and that the towns people present programs for the visitors. Once again, is there something I should see outside of the city that I would be able to get to easily. I love to look at scenery and special points of interest.
Any information or help that you could give me I would truly appreciate. I know weather is unpredictable, but should I bring a winter jacket and gloves?
Thanks-you so much. Linda
Planning a short trip at the end of March 2010. Antone likley to be in or around Nuuk at that time.
We are about 40 years old and plan to travel for 3-5 days in greenland in the next summer.
we are looking for a beautiful and special place, to have short treks arround and to find also the local culture.
what do you suggest us - Narsarsuaq or Nuuk, or maybe some other place (maybe Kulusuk)
thank you and Merry Christams
I am new in here and plan to be in Greenland in the summer
please help me plan a 5 days trip - where to stay and where to travel (and how to travel - boat, walk, helicopter....)
how much should it cost to me?
I am in the very early stages of planning an around the world trip. I would love to make a stop in both Greenland and Iceland if possible but I don't know much about where to fly from/which cities to visit etc. From my understanding it is possible to fly to Iceland from Canada but not Greenland? I'm just wondering if anyone has insights on the cheapest way to get to these countries? Thanks!
I'm off to Greenland (Kulusuk) in 2 weeks and I have a few questions:
--Can I use Euros, or do I definitely have to change to Danish kroner?
--What type of clothes should I take with me? Will it be extremely cold, or more like north Europe in the winter?
Does anybody knows which is the cheappest way to fly to Greenland from Europe?. I can only find one company (Air Greenland) flying there. Thank you very much in advance
I like to have a visit to Greenland in the near future. I started looking around, what's the best way to experience this beautiful part of the eart. What are must do's? The country is so big, so you have to make discissions about an active walking or a more sightseeing trip. Or am I wrong?
What is the most beautiful part of Greenland, and maybe more important, where do you really get the Greenland experience (for a reasonable price, because it will be expensive anyway)?. I know it's subjective, but I am grateful to any advice. Iam not interested in high comfort trips, but I guess there won't be a lot.

I am searching a boat transfer this summer from Kangerlussuag 60km down the Söndre Strömfjord.
Do you know any companies/private persons who provide that? I already tried Kangerlussuag Tourism but they say they can't help me.
Thanks and best regards,
Does someone know something about subj?
I am going to Greenland in 2009.
Did any one walk the Sisimiut to Kangerlussuaq trek and did any one take the Arctic Umiaq ferry boat?
What can you tell me about it?
We booked a cruise with Albatross Travel, from Kangerlussaq to Thule (and vice versa). Has anyone experienced a cruise with them?
Me and my freind are looking to hire 2 kayaks in the area of Disko bay for 1-2 weeks. We are very experince paddlers.
can anyone provide us information of a place where we cold hire the kayaks ?
We will be visiting Qaqortoq on Sept.12th on theGrand Princess Cruise ship.
We will unfortunately only be there for 5 hours from 8 AM to 1 PM.
We would like very much like to do some fishing if it is at all possible.
Please advise if this could be achieved ?
I am traveling to Greenland for work and am reluctant to bring own toolbox due to excess baggage fees. Can anyone advise me about the availability of tools in Nuuk? such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, electrical testers etc. I expect prices will be high, however my chief concern is availablity.
Has anyone travel with this ship before?
I would appreciate any comments on this ship. I'm planning a trip to greenland in August this year and will fly into Nuuk. How is the comfort of this ship and are there any facilities on board?
Does anybody know if there are any outlets in Nuuk that rent camping equipment?
Thanks in advance.
I am spending a month in Ilulissat, Greenland. Does anybody have any tips or advise. I'll be there writing but want to experience some hiking and exploring when I'm not working. thanks
I guess most people in Greenland have broadband at home nowadays, but does that mean that there are no internet cafes in Kangerlussuaq? And how about WiFi? Would the Old Camp hostel have wifi/internet?
