How do I get from Brindisi Airport to Gallipoli on public transport?

Mary Smith from Leicester

1. Taxi or bus from the airport to Brindisi railway station. Bus info and links here:

2. Trenitalia train from Brindisi to Lecce. Times, details and fares in English on the official Trenitalia website:

Journey time is around 30 minutes, one-way fare from 2.80 euro. No need to buy tickets online in advance...just buy them at the station.

3. Ferrovie Del Sud Est train from Lecce to Gallipoli. Timetables, fares and info in English:

Journey time is from just over an hour, one-way fare 4.10 euro.

There is also a bus Brindisi>Gallipoli but only twice per day. You can see timetables if you go to

Click 'Prenota Marozzi', then 'Ricerca Orari Corse' and then enter 'Brindisi' and 'Gallipoli'

At the moment the site says there are buses 0800 and 1835 but the option to book a ticket online does not show Brindisi>Gallipoli. As buses can and do get full-up, my own preference would be to use the trains.
