Kids, kids and more kids....

My extended family is planning a vacation to Fripp Island in August. We have 5 kids ages 20 mos.- 9 years. Most if what I pull up on the internet is about golf resorts...and more golf resorts. Aside from playiing on the beach, anything else out there for kids?

Great family vacation spot. They have 2 pools on the island and my kids loved going to the beach in the morning and the pool in the afternoon. Our beach house came with a golf cart and pool passes and everyone uses golf carts to drive to the pool and cruising around the island. The kids love going for a ride. There is a natural reserve, but it's just too humid to hike. Besides you'll likely have to carry them and strollers won't work well. You'll see lots of deer near your beach house in the evenings and lightening bugs. Beauford is near by, but mostly restaurants and shopping for old ladies. They do have a park the little ones would like - maybe something to stop at on your way into or out of Fripp. (It's not worth a special drive.) The park is near the water, next to the bridge, near the highway. Bring some beach toys, play some cards (teach the little ones "slap-jack" or war) and you'll have a great time. We've been going to Fripp for years.
