Hello! My husband and I would love to enjoy some cooking in the countryside - do you have any recommendations for any culinary experiences? We will be in the area April 7-11.
Do you want cooking lessons or do you want to join a family in the countryside for dinner, i.e. home cooking?
If you want a good home cooked meal, contact the Bertinis in San Polo near Florence. The have an olive farm and rent out two apartments as an agriturismo but she also prepares meals for guests and you would not necessarily have to stay there although I highly recommend it. I don't know if she teaches cooking or not but you could e-mail and ask. They are wonderful people. [original VT link]
Whatever you decide, enjoy your time in Italy.
HI! Ciao! If you are looking for a cooking class I suggest two "Tuscan cooking class vacation": VIlla Ciggiano (www.villaciggiano.com where you can spend a luxury vacation and learn how to cook traditional recipes with a five star chef) or Cooking in Tuscany (http://www.cookintuscany.com/home a real experience with the women of the village, they will teach how to cook the dishes!).
If you are looking for a "tasting" vacation don't miss the two market in Florence, Sant'Ambrogio and San Lorenzo!
Unfortunately I don't know where exactly you can enjoy some tuscan cooking classes in Florence, but I can suggest these two opportunities:
Don't forget to visit the charming market in San Lorenzo!
hope you will enjoy Tuscany!
