I need to get from Pisa Airport to Florence - any suggestions?
You can take the Terravision bus direct from Pisa airport to Florence Santa Maria Novella station:
I've used it in the past, though not for some time:

Or you can take the train. The line from Pisa airport is not running at the moment so first you need to take the bus to Pisa Centrale station ('stazione'). Timetables here:
Click the orange document icon underneath 'Orario'.
Then just take the train to Florence Santa Maria Novella station. Use 'Firenze' in your search on the official Italian railway website. Trains are frequent, fares are very reasonable and you do not need to book your tickets online in advance. ticket machines have English language options and are very easy to use:
The Terravision bus that leics speaks is, at the moment, an unbelievable bargain at 4.99 euro. The train from Pisa to Florence is 8.10 euro, plus the bus from Pisa Airport to Pisa Centrale train station is probably at least another euro...for a total that is about twice as much as the Terravision bus. In addition to not forcing you to make a change of conveyance in Pisa (from bus to train), the total trip by Terravision bus is 70 minutes (traffic permitting), which is as fast or faster as most of the rail bus/rail solutions.
With departures slightly more than hourly (irregularly so), it's hard to justify NOT taking the Terravision bus, so long as this discount price of 4.99 is valid...
It is absolutely valid, Bill. Terravision really do have excellent prices and decent-enough service, which is how they've not only survived but grown over the 10 or so years I've been travelling.
In the OP's situation I'd happily take the Terravision but I'd be more wary of taking it *back* to the airport. I'd certainly get an earlier bus than I think I might need because of potential traffic issues.
I always use Terravision when I fly into Rome Ciampino but they aren't Italy-specific. Terravision also operates here in the UK, in Amsterdam, Porto and Malta.
Just to note that I've taken the Terravision bus from Florence to the airport in Pisa (because of a train strike) and it's cheap, safe and clean. Yes, we took the local Peoplemover bus from the airport to Pisa Centrale for our onward train journey but it was cheap and fast too.
However, if you're traveling after the end of this year, there will be an express train which you can take from the airport to Pisa Centrale so keep an eye on this site:
