What to do in less than one day

I'm a first time visitor to Ennis and Ireland. Any suggestion as to what to see in Ennis in less than one day? Will have been in Cork the day before and plan on seeing Blarney and Cobh and City Gael while there, plus St. Anne's or Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral.

I assume you are travelling up by Bus? Ennis Friary [original link] the museum [original link] the Cathedral and other options on this site [original link] Lite lunch in the Rowan tree hostel, evening meal in Poets corner of the Old Ground or Brogans (haven't eaten there myself since it reopened but reports say it's still as good as it was) Music in Brogans or elsewhere in town.

There is the Franciscan Friary in Ennis. It and the grounds are lovely although a ruin. [original link]

You can walk to the Pro Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul and visit that. [original link]

Cruise’s Pub is on Abbey Street beside the Franciscan Friary and we had a delicious and fun dinner there. Very friendly. [original link]

If you are driving up from Cork, stop at Adare for a little walk-through. There are a row of thatched houses that are charming. We ate lunch at the Dunraven Arms Hotel across the street from them and they let us park there while we looked at the thatched houses and church in Adare. Lovely place for lunch, BTW.

You'll also be driving by Bunratty Castle and Bunratty Folk Park but that is a full day so you may want to save it for a future trip. It was a highlight of our trip but we spent the entire day there and ate at their Irish Night in the Corn Barn. Great fun but time consuming.

If you're not driving, just enjoy Ennis when you get there. Be sure to walk down Abbey St., McConnell St. and High Street. The shop fronts are absolutely beautiful. It was one of the prettiest towns we visited. It would be a great place for some souvenir shopping too.

Enjoy Ireland.

There is also a free museum on Arthur's Row just in case the weather is inclement, quite interesting for an hour or so.

Forgot to link the walking tours in my earlier answer. these though only take place on certain days and as they start at 11 am could be before your arrival. Unless you arrange for a private tour? [original link]

I appreciate the response to my question. I wrote down all the suggestions and will plan on seeing as much as I can in a short period of time.

Great city. We were there for only a day as part of a pre tour and we just walked around town and went to the Ennis Abbey ruins. Also found a local museum near by which was really nice.
