Shalom,
I just checked the Egged page in Hebrew.
It states that the #390 bus takes 5 hours and 15 minutes.
It leaves from Tel Aviv about every 1.5 - 2 hours on weekdays.

Martin,

Thanks, strange that at the English timetable it seems 7.15 hours.I guess you will be right as the local expert, See you soon. PJ

The 390, which is a direct bus takes the 5 ΒΌ hours that Martin wrote. Pieter, you looked at the 393! That is a bus that does not go direct. It stops in other cities enroute to Eilat. That is why it takes longer. BTW I deliberately looked at the English Egged site to see if it matched the Hebrew--it does!

To be faster, take the train till Be`er Sheva and then the bus. The train needs about 1:10h and the bus about 3 1/2 hours.

The train between Tel-Aviv is slightly faster than the bus, correct.
But the direct bus from Tel-Aviv to Eilat is faster than taking the train to Beer-Sheva and then walking from the train station to the bus station (next door to each other) then transferring to a Beer-Sheva to Eilat bus.
