Quickest Transportation to Wedau rowing course from town

My husband is racing in the Masters Regatta in September. All of the closest hotels to the site are fully booked so it looks like we'll be staying in Duisburg. I understand that the only bus to the race site from town is No. 923. Can you please suggest hotels that are nice (Not fancy) where this bus is close by? If you don't mind, also suggest good places to eat that the locals love. Thank you very much!

The Regattabahn bus stop (and start) is in field F10
This is pretty close to the center of Duisburg. Bus #923 needs 12 minutes from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) to the Regattabahn bus stop.

With [original link] you can give as destination things like
Duisburg, Regattabahn
Duisburg, Hauptbahnhof
and it will list all available hotels by distance to this destination.

You can use the DB timetable to check the connections from a hotel address to the Regattabahn.

I have been to rowing events in Duisburg several times and always stayed at Hotel Stadt Duisburg which has become a Sorat hotel in the meantime. There are two Sorat Hotels next to each other, one is the Sorat Conti and the other one the Sorat Ferrotel.

Although I had a car to get to the regatta course independently, it is no problem either to get there by public transport. From the Sorat Hotels as well a many other hotels you get there with just one change. Bus 923 passes at the central station (Hauptbahnhof) and you could change there. Or get a hotel near the railway station and get straight onto bus 923.

Often at such events there might be a shuttle service, have you already investigated with the organiser?

I have not been in Duisburg for rather a long time, so do not dare to give restaurant tips. But then food at the Hotel Stadt Duisburg was great. I doubt the chef still is the same... ;-)))
