Is the Big (red) bus ride in Dubai worth it? can we do the sight seeing by s/taxi etc. over three days? Thanks.
Of course you can do sightseeing by taxi, everyone has its own preference. I have done the red bus tours and I'm satisfied with it.....I haven't done sightseeing with taxi, so I don't know the cost of a taxi
To take the Big red bus will give you all you want to see. the sightseeing will show you all that one wants to see. Here are a few of my photos that were taken from the bus. go for it, you will not regret it. Enjoy your tour and don't take a taxi as it could cost you a lot of money. Let's go
Having lived in Dubai for more than 35 years i can vouch that the Big Bus would be preferable, however, i believe there are now up to 3 different routes so study carefully what might be your preference to see.
The new Opera House and Boulevard are well worth a wonder around. Burj Khalifa is also close by.
If it's your first time in Dubai I suggest you do the Big Bus tour at the beginning to get your bearings, then you can go back to any of the places that particularly interested you by taxi or Metro.
In addition, an absolute must do is to spend some time around the Creek, exploring the souks, Dubai Museum and Sheikh Saeed's House and taking the abra (traditional little ferry) across from one side to the other. Info here: [original VT link]
Yes, I guess the Big Bus is one of the best ways to see Dubai when you are here on a short vacation, especially during winter. It covers most of the interesting places to see.
Book your ticket .. you would love it. :)
But don't waste your three days on this bus.
At least give the questionaire a reason as to why not to waste their time, riding the Big Red Bus
Because there is a lot to enjoy other then the bus as others have already mentioned above.
