Post-cruise tourist in dover

We will be ending a cruise in Dover and would like to see Dover and Cantebury before going on to London. Is there a train that we can get that goes to Cantebury and back to Dover the same day? What is the average cost of a train round trip to Cantebury? Can we just book tickets when we get there?
Thanks for the info

Hi [VT member 4bce],
Yes there are many trains going from Dover Priory Station to Canterbury daily. The journey takes less than 30 minutes & will cost £6.40 return ( currently ) . Take a look at for actual departure times, Darren.
