Melbourne-Darwin via Qld cont.

Hi! Thanks for some very helpful fast replies! I've made my decision and will go that way for something new and different! Though was wondering how the best way to avoid going through Sydney but get back on the coast to see maybe Port Macquarie. Also are there many caravan parks that are fairly quiet along the NSW`coast, or are most places generally busy and popular most of the time.

Hiya Kristy.

Probably the easiest way around the back of Sydney would be to hang a left at Picton and go through Camden straight through on the Northern Road to Windsor. From Windsor you can get to Gosford via Wiseman's Ferry. This is a most scenic trip with beautiful river views as you cross on the ferry then head on up the road through Peats Ridge and back on to the highway north just before Wyong.

Also if you are planning to stay in caravan parks, then might be a good site to have a look. You might be interested in their Big4 Club where you can get 10% discount on accommodation.

.....just a side thought, have you heard about our big downunder vt meet in May next year? It's in Darwin!! :o) Here's the link -

Hopefully we might see you there!
Cheers, Ann :o)
