No Zadar?  (4 Answers)

Hi all,

I'm having a difficult time finding accommodation in Zadar and am wondering if we should skip it on our trip. We'll be ending a trip around Serbia, BiH & Croatia with a few days in Korcula & Split and are flying out of Zadar on a Friday afternoon. Our original plan was to spend the night before our flight in Zadar and check out the city, but the only hostel-type accommodations that have room seem a bit far away from the city in Bibinje and we won't have a car. Is Bibinje worth it or would you recommend spending the last night in Split and just going directly to the airport? Any recommendations welcome. Thanks!

Zadar - worth visiting?  (4 Answers)

Hi,
There is 5 of us visiting Croatia in August.
We are flying into Zadar & our travel plan is zadar, split, brac, hvar, dubrovnik.
We were originally saying we would stay two nights in Zadar but we are hearing conflicting stories about the place.. Have been told to stay just the one night as their is not much to do in Zadar & islands etc are nicer...
Is it worth staying in Zadar for 2 nights- is there much to the place or would one night be enough?
Any info appreciated!
Linda

Price for a bus from Zadar to Pag?  (3 Answers)

My friends and I are heading to Zadar for two weeks in May. We're interested in going to Pag for a few days while there, as we hear the nightlife is awesome there.

I can find information on bus timetables online, but can find no indication of the prices of buses from Zadar to Pag (Novalja is the main town there I think). Could anyone tell me the approximate price of a bus there?

Thanks.

Zadar-Knin-Sibenik  (1 Answer)

Hi,

A couple of mates and I are travelling to Croatia this summer.
The goal off our trip, is to enjoy nature and make fun. After landing in Zadar, we would take the train to Knin, from there on we would like to backpack through
the krka national park in the direction of sibenik. I was wondering if there is a camping or something in the park, because it seems impossible to cross it in one day?

second question: Are there walking routes along the coast between Sibenik and Zadar?

Hi,

We are heading the Garden Party in July and planning to stay in Zadar for a couple of nights. Can anyone recommend decent hostels/hotels/apartments in the city centre?

Also what's the nightlife like? What clubs/pubs should we avoid?

Bikes on buses  (1 Answer)

Hey there I am hoping to travel from Pula to Dubrovnik by bike in 12 days or so and was banking on getting a ferry from Zadar to Split, and these don't seem to exist anymore. Does anyone know if it is possible to transport bikes on public buses in Croatia?

Cheers

Female traveling on her own... is it safe?  (4 Answers)

I'd like to visit Crotia traveling from the northern coast down to Dubrovnik over the course of 1 week. Is it safe for a female traveling on her own? Also, are the hostel options? I'm looking to budget travel.

Last ques, are there any bike tours (single day) or one week along the coast that offer budget pricing/accommodations?

Many thanks!!!

Where to stay for 1 night before going to the islands?  (4 Answers)

Hi,

We land in Zadar about 20.30 on a Saturday night in August. The following day we will get the ferry to Dugi Otok but we'd like to see something of the mainland while we have the opportunity.

Do you think we should stay in Zadar that night, or is there somewhere else within reasonable driving distance that is more interesting?

Thanks
Amber

Zadar to Primosten  (1 Answer)

Does anybody know the best way to get from Zadar airport to Primosten? My flight gets in at 20.35 on a Monday. Do the buses travel that late, and do they stop in Primosten (I presume on the way to Split)?

Plitvice lakes national park  (1 Answer)

Hi there

We are travelling from Zagreb down to Zadar and would like to stop over at the Plitvice lakes as it looks amazing. My concern is what is travel like into and around the national park? Would we have to hire a car for this as public transport does not seem like it goes through the park - am I right in saying this?

Any help would be much appreciated and I can try help out anyone wanting to travel to South Africa or England.

Many thanks in advance - just a friendly tip would be good and perhaps suggestion as to where to stay in the park?

THANK YOU

Zadar - Split - Hvar - Split  (3 Answers)

Hi there! =)

I have booked flights for my partner, her parents and myself arriving late in the evening on 16th July (approx) 20:30 and flying out from Split v.late in the evening on the 23rd of July. We will have a large family hire car and plan to do the following, roughly;

* Find a room for 1 night in Zadar (Driving straight from the Airport)
Do we need to spend some time around this area sight-seeing?
* 17th July (Morning) Drive 'along coastal roads' opposed to the 4 lane highway to Split and check into potentially 'Peristil' hotel 2 nights'. Do sight-seeing through Split.

* 19th July (Afternoon) Take car on Ferry from Split to Hvar - relax on beaches, stay somewhere up on a hill with a view over Hvar island and the ocean.

* 23rd July (Final day) Try and take a different route off Hvar back to Split and pretty much drive back to the Airport in Split and drop off the car there and fly home.

ANY and All feedback, suggestions, changes would be appreciated and carefully listened to,
Basic accomodation in good spots most of our time is desired here. Accommodation Tips are needed?

Thankyou,

Carl Brooks

Anyone know the cheapest and best route from Ancona to Zadar low season March or April  (2 Answers)

I am thinking of visiting Italy in March or early April 2006, I am finding it difficult to get details of costs and the quickest route from Ancona to Zadar. The ferry is overnight and costs around £100 they do not do the Hydrofoil in low season, or I have been told to travel to Trieste and get a bus from there, can anyone help or advise me the best possible way. My airfare is very cheap with RyanAir, so I do not want to pay over the top to get there.

getting from Plitvice to zadar  (3 Answers)

Hi, I have been spending hours planning a trip to Slovenia and Croatia for Aug 30 to Sept 8. So far my friend and I both lovely senior ladies, have bought airline tickets from London to Ljubljana and return tickets from Pescara Itay on low cost airlines. How would you advise us to use this limited time? So far we are booked into Bledec Hostel in Bled and Celica Hostel in Ljubljana. I am thinking of taking a bus from Ljubjlana to Plitvice park and then going from there to Zadar then using the ferry to Dubrovnik. A big concern is what we will do with our rolling backbacks, not large, but we'll need a place to store them while we explore. I have several guide books and have used lots of web sites for info but would appreciate personal imput. We plan to stay in private rooms, booked as we go. Is that workable? Thanks. Breezy
