My husband and I are "older" and do not hike!! We can walk but not LONG distances at a time. To see the historical sites on the island, do you have to walk to each once getting off at the ferry? I keep seeing comments about tours, but yet to find any details about them.
this is my first trip to Cumberland Island. I know that there are no motorized vehicles on the island except for the van tours. If my campsite is several miles away from the ferry dock, do I have to hike to the site or is there any transportation?
We have made a couple of day trips to the Island and now are planning our first camping trip at Sea Camp. Can anyone offer any advise on how and what to pack. How big are the storage boxes are they big enough for a cooler or tote?How do you get everything to the campsites from the dock? We camp alot at campgounds but have never backpacked so our supplies are big and bulkey.
