We are planning on travel to galway for a few days in the next couple of weeks and wondered if there is any park and ride facility for motorhomes around the city.
We're going to be visiting Ireland at the end of August, staying in Clifden. We'd like to make a day trip to Carrigaholt further up the coast but don't know whether it's feasible in terms of distance / roads. Can anybody help?
I really want to go to Galway but I really want to see the Abbey of Kells. Is there a way of transportation, such as a train or bus, that could take me from one to the other? Any other suggestions of how I can do both are very welcome.
My wife and I will be stay in and around Galway this June for about 10 days. We'll have a car and would like to have a flexible itineary and go where the wind takes us. Should we reserve our rooms in advance (not very spontaneous) or is it fairly easy to find a B&B for the night?
As a spectator, which is more fun to watch:
(a) gaelic football
Charlie Byrne's or Kennys?
Hi all :-)
Will be heading down to Connemara for 4 days in a few days time and staying in the LetterFrack area. I will most certainly be doing the Connemara loop. Can anyone recommend any good pubs were the craic will be flowing that are not too much of a tourist hunt ( if there is such a thing ! ) with a wee bity of music :-). Also any recommendations on sightseeing and good food ;-)
I am searching for the name of the small (but wonderful) equestrian center between Kinvara and Galway. Thanks much.
Hello my name is Nicholas Draney and I am a student at Brooks Institute of Photography in California. I am traveling to Ireland and specifically Galway with a group of students to do documentary photography. We are interested in documenting stories about people in Ireland. The culmination of these five weeks will be a student show and book. Is there anyone out in the Galway area that may have an interesting story or know of any story threads that would potentially be interesting to a group of photojournalists? I have been looking into the farming communities in Ireland and how the agricultural industry, which used to be the number one industry in Ireland, has fallen to third overall. Is there anyone out there that knows of any local farmers being affected by this? Maybe selling ground to development projects? Or perhaps families that can not afford to own and operate the land which has been in their families for generations. Any tips or contacts would help me immeasurably. Please email me if you think that you have any information that will help us in our endeavor. Thanks so much.
Hi, Planning a trip to Galway in June and have a couple of questions. At the moment the plan is to arrive on the Saturday evening of the June bank holiday weekend and leave on the Tuesday. Not sure yet if we'll stay in Galway city or in Connemara somewhere.
1. Is the city likely to be mad busy seeing as it's a holiday weekend. I also heard something about 'Bog Week'? What's that all about?
2. Where is affected by the bad water thing?
3. If you've been to or live in Galway what's your favourite thing about it?
Thanks in advance,
I am visiting County Galway in Febraury and I am really interested in visiting the Cliffs of Moher. I understand that there are bus tours that go to and from the cliffs. Would you be able to direct me to site that I can make reservations for a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher from Galway City? Any information regarding transportation to the Cliffs is much appreciated.
Just wondering if there are any shops that sell groceries in Spideal. Also, what is the town like? How are the restaurants? Any info would be great!!

I am travelling to County Galway May 19th to 30th. I'm staying with my wife's family in Athenry, but will spend alot of time in Galway. Can anyone suggest a good non-tourist pub with a good Irish session ?
Just curious to see what anyone thinks of this itinerary. Arriving in Shannon in July 05 for an 11 day stay and flying out of Shannon. First day in Ennis and then on to Galway for 2 nights. From Galway to Dublin for 2 nights and then down to Kinsale for 2 nights. From Kinsale to Dingle for 2 nights and our last night in Bunratty. Is this too much?? It appears doable to me, but what the hell do I know. Thanks
