Hi, Has anybody been to El Chocó recently? El Valle, Bahia Solano and the Ensenada de Utría in particular. We'll be travelling at the beginning of July- Sounds amazing. Any advice would be very much appreciated, some people have mentioned for example that the Park is closed to the public at the moment? We'll also be travelling to Leticia for a week then heading down the Amazon to Brazil, does anybody know about visiting the Amayacana (?) national Park without a tour company - I.E. catching a boat from Leticia to the park and taking it from there. As always any other advice about Leticia, the Amazon and the park would be very much appreciated. Thanks, John

Hello, I am curious, as a foreigner (American), how the bus trips are going in Colombia. And in particular I am looking to catch a bus (if possible, not even sure about that) from Leticia to somewhere around Pitalito and on up to Bogota. Is this advisable? Pls send me any suggestions you might have to my email at [email]. Any help is more than appreciated! Ciao.
Hi, I will be visiting South America with my backpack in October, and i plan to visit Colombia. Could anybody let me know what safety is like in Colombia these days and if there are any areas that are best avoided? Any help will be very much appreaciated. Thanks!
Hi, I'm trying to help a friend of mine get in virtual touch with her family in Colombia. I thought the best way to do this would be to help set up an VoIP with video connection between them. To do this I need the name of an nearest local broadband internet cafe with Video. Any idea of where I could find a list of Internet Cafés in the Zaragoza, Valle del Cauca region? Cheers!

The only thing about my friend is that his last name is Galvis. Do they have whitepages on the internet? I need to find my friend! Also are there any FARC activities in and around the city? How safe it is? ETC Thanks for your help Cleo

I am an american citizen......28, male.......and will be visiting Cali very soon....My girlfriend (who is colombian) wants to go to Manizales by car. She says it is not dangerous. However I do have some reservations about that idea. Does anyone have any insight as to if this would be safe or not? Please respond if you actually know...I don't need opinions from people not familiar with the area. Thanks
Hello... I really like all of the advice shared on this site. I read the Colombia postings and didn't see my partucular situation addressed, so I figured I'd ask. I am looking to take a job teaching English in Buenos Aires or Santiago in Nov '04. To get there I plan on driving my Saturn (1994, gold, 200,000 miles) from Denver, down thru Central America and into S. Amer. I understand there is/are ferries you can take to get from Panama to Colombia (and Ecuador?). Question is this: Is it safe for me to drive my Saturn solo thru Colombia and into Ecuador, Peru or Venezuela? I have brown hair, blu eyes, and am fluent in Spanish. My car will have Colorado lisence plates, and the car is not particularly fancy (as I see it). Would anyone recommend it or advise against it, and why? If it is safe, why do you feel that way? We have all read the US State Dept warnings. But I have also read many, many people who say Colombia was one of the "most beautiful countries" they have ever visited and that they felt safe there. Pardon the long posting... I will take any and all info I can get! Thanks. Dan
Hello fellow lovers of Colombia, I'll be flying into Cartagena next week, and due to a change of plans, I need to go from Cartagena to Barrranquilla. Does anyone know if they still have commuter flights between the cities? I can't seem to find any service these days. And if not, are the highways currently safe for a bus trip? Can anyone recommend a bus line and how best to catch it once arrived in Cartagena airport? Kind regards, Patrick
I know this question's been asked before but wondered if anyone had more info on it. Myself and a friend intend to travel overland from Quito to Bogota then on to Cartegena and end up in Caracas. Any tips on best route, safety, timescales etc. would be much appreciated. We're considering spending Xmas & New Year in Cartegena as we have heard this is supposed to be excellant. Any views on this please. Thanks.
Hi! Can anybody tell me, does Bogota Airport have transit zone and is it possible to transfer from one international flight to another without passing through border?
Has anyone recently travelled overland from Quito to Caracas via Bogata, Cartagena, Santa Marta etc. As far as I can glean, the worst section appears to be between the Ecuador border and Popayan. Other areas of concern are the roads between Popayan to Bogota and the route from Bogota to Cartagena. The north appears to be pretty much safe to travel through????? Any comments or any of the above would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
hi do any one know about cheap ticket (one way from bogota to amsterdham/paris/london
Next year, I would like to going at San Andres. It suppose to be very good, beautiful and with a good nightlife... I would like to have more information about this place. Thank you!
I plan to go to Neiva (Huila) for a couple of weeks in the summer to spend it with my family ( my friend who is from Cali is coming also). He lives in the US with me now though. The thing I was wondering about was how much would it cost for us to travel to Pereira and Bogota from Neiva? Or would it make more sense to just make more sense to visit family that is in Pererira? I'm not sure which would be a better thing to do. Ayudame por favor..... *NegriTa*
I'm traveling to Cali Colombia. I'm a US citizen but I know some people there to whom I want to bring some presents. I want to know what am I allowed to bring into the country? Can I bring the presents in their original boxes? Am I allowed to bring presents by paying some form of tax? If I have to pay some form of tax; what is the process for registering the items or paying the tax upon entry? Thanks, W.
My wife and I are both Spanish speaking US citizens. We constantly hear stories about people being kidnapped and/or killed in Colombia. The news is so constant that my wife is now afraid to travel there, and I'm quickly getting to that point too. I would appreciate comments on this topic from people who have visited or live in Columbia. We would love to go there, but only if we know how to stay safe. Thanks!
Do there exist something as bed and breakfast in Colombia ? Would like to make a trip to Colombia in November 2002
