I'm heading to cartagena and of January for 2 weeks and looking for a nice hotel on the beach and close to the night life. I would prefer a place that won't have to many families as I'm looking to have fun and party without having to listen to a bunch of screaming kids. Anyone have some good suggestions?
I don't have a beach hotel for you, but a good one that is kid free inside the old city

If I was to return to Cartagena this time i would stay at the Sofitel Santa Clara Legend Hotel. Great location and outstanding service. The fifth floor rooms have the best view of the ocean. The public areas are absolutely gorgeous and you feel as if you are right in the jungle. The staff goes constantly out of their way to help you. Here is a link;
The only downside to this hotel is its price. However the hotel has less than 130 rooms and it feels even less crowded. Beach is just minutes away.
My tips on Cartagena are about 5-8 years old. The City is a delight and the colors are spectacular along the wall and in the old city. Have a great trip.
Mdn-- I see now that you are the OP on this question. If you have any more questions about Cartagena be sure to ask me or e-mail me if you prefer. Have a great trip.
