Is it a nice place to spend 10 to 14 days without anoying one's self? Are there some nice bars around? How about the sea and the waves? aren't the waves too big being a windsurfing place? Is the resort relatively big? A night out in Kuantan is possible? What about daytime activities? Is the weather nice at the end of August/beginning of September? Many thanks
If you want a quiet relaxed holiday then cherating is the place for you. The area in front of the chalets is very sheltered and you would be lucky to get waves over a metre. Kuantan is approximately 45 minutes away by taxi and doesn't kick off until late at night. Daytime activities: go snorkelling, a walk along the beach, read a book then another book. Wherabouts were you thinking of staying? I have stayed there heaps of times and will be there again tomorrow if you have any specific place in mind. Regards, Michael
Thank you very much for your answer; I was thinking about Holiday Villa Cherating; because unfortunately the holiday packages available in France cover very few hotels in Cherating and this is the only one more appealing. or even maybe of Hyatt Kuantan regency (a little bit farther), but I am not sure that the beach is nice over there. Regards
The beach is much better in Cherating....well its a bout 45 mins from Kuantan and its very quiet at night..... 10 -14 days in cherating is too long i guess.. a few bars....waves are generally not that big during your time of visit..resort modern ...night out in kuantan yes .... nothing much on daytime activities too long in that resort......travel over malaysia and u can also visit a few islands in the neighbouring state of terengganu.....
Hi! Agreed with previous posting that 2 weeks in Cherating maybe too long... unless U just wanna laze around and do nothing. Cherating beach quite nice with big waves as its fronting the open sea (South China Sea). There's few reputable beach resort there, most notably Club Med Cherating. Kuantan is just 30 minute drive frm Cherating and offers better nite life. As for day time actiities, apart frm lazing around in the ebach you can visit the fishermen villages there and batik factory, of course you can go to nearby Kuantan & Pekan (royal town) for some sight seing. Its good if you can visit the neighbouring island resorts in Pulau Redang and Perhentian - nicer beaches and good for snorkelling/scuba diving. Afterall you hve 14 days to spend so enjoy yourself. The weather should be OK in August/September. -m-
