My family, in it's infinite wisdom, has decided that a little family getaway would be nice instead of Christmas presents :) A fairly large group: self and husband, sister and husband w/older daughter (adult), sister, brother and wife and maybe son (16, niece (adult), nephew and wife, daughter and husband (young marieds) possibly more!
I have no idea how to go about looking for something like this. Any ideas or suggestions would be terrific.
We're looking at something in or around Charlottesville and trying to keep the price of lodging reasonable as some members aren't wealthy.
Where do I start??
I have one option that came off of the top of my head. It could be adventureous. Look at www.patc.com for houses that you can rent that are a short distance from Charlottesville. My wife and friends stayed in one for a few days over the summer and had a great time. An other option is one we are thinking of and it is renting a house at the outer banks of North Carolina. We have done so in the past but only in summer. Do a search and you can find loads of homes for rent there.
Thanks, but when I go to www.patc.com it is some kind of police training page???
I don't see anything about houses in Charlottesville. :)
Totally sorry about that it's a .net not a .com WWW.patc.net. Give that a go.
For housing try http://va-guesthouses.com/ as they handle home rentals. Hotels and restaurants can be pricey, and this way you can cook at home and go out when you want. Most bang for your buck. They have many homes they rent with and without the owners on site and with good locations right in or just outside town.
