Please advise which beach and city is best to visit in Croatia? We have 5 days? Also, which hotels are the finest?
Brela, village (south of Split and north of Makarska)- beaches Punta Rata and Berulija are blue flag beaches, world Top 20 according to Forbes. Blue sun Hotels run really good hotels and there is one in Brela (see www.bluesunhotels.com). Omis (city; 23km to the north of Brela) has a historical city centre with narrow cobblestoned streets. There's a beautiful hotel in Omis- Hotel Villa Dvor which overlooks the river and the city, the only problem is that you have to climb up some 100 steps to get to it. The other newly redecorated Hotel is Plaza (check www.hotelplaza.hr). Private accommodation is cheaper and there is plenty of it in Omis. There are good beaches in Omis (beach at Camp Galeb), as well as just b4 north entrance to the city. Baska Voda is famous little resort as well, 28km south of Omis (after Brela). You can get easily from Omis to Brela and Baska (and Split for some sightseeing) as there are many local buses throughout the day which run from Makarska to SPlit and vice versa (all of the above places are on the same road).
