Cape Breton Island

stop over in maritimes too expensive

Can anyone advise me on the cheapest way to stop over and visit the maritimes for a week or two on the way back from visiting relatives in Vancouver late August September? Looking at multitrips with Air Canada is coming out at £1656.00!!!!!!
If I fly London to Vancouver and break the return journey in Toronto it is only £665.00! Can you help with the best internal flights or other travel that will be cheaper and also would it be best to get to Halifax or St John's or any where else? Any travel advice much appreciated. We love to visit Canada and have been to BC several times but have never ventured into Eastern Canada

Check out West Jet as well. Then you can ask both Air Canada and WestJet for their on-line newsletters. This will keep you posted every time they have a seat sale. Sometimes, they have an offer that lasts only 24 - 48 hours, and it's really good discounts. other times it's just junk mail. but you can keep posted for now and then cancel after your trip. go to their websites, and sign up on-line, it's free, and it can be a great tool. We use it for buying tickets to visit the grandkids. (or have them visit us)

Right now, both Westjet and Air Canada are having cheap flights. We just found flights from Halifax to Edmonton for149. Canadian. It would be a bit more from Vancouver to Halifax, but not a lot. Bad news, the seat sale is only good until March 31....They often have these great 24 hour sales.
