Buenos Aires

Dollar cost of living

In dollar terms, is Buenos Aires more expensive today with just one exchange rate compared to a year ago? Is there still a market for "blue" dollars? Thanks.

Yes, it is probably 50% more expensive (compared to blue dollar) than one year ago. There are no more blue dollars. The exchange rate has gone from 16:1 a year ago to 14:1 today, and there has been 50% inflation. It's a bummer!!

I was thinking Aires Criollos on Santa Fe & Callao. As I recall, it was about 50 dollars for two. That was about three years ago. At today's rate of 15.25:1 that would be around 40 dollars for two. La NaciĆ³n quoted the 15.25 rate on Monday. Anyway, it is still a "tolerable" price! I really appreciate your help!
